If something requires an account, I pass. Even if it's "free". I don't want all the spam that comes with the data-sharing. Hell, I privately scheduled a colonoscopy with my primary care physician and received a Cologard kit a week later. Fucking data-sharing by the hospital corporation.

So the billionaires that own the companies can collect and sell your personal data! We live in an era now where WE are the actual product.

Arbitration was originally devised as a business to business mediation, between two entities on equal footing. It makes no sense as a business to consumer practice and IMO should be illegal. The power dynamic is too imbalanced.

So they can have a more complete data profile on you. Think of the info the gov. has on you. Taxes, employment. They’ve requested and gotten gun registrations, voter, Medicaid, and SNAP records Now tik tok data. And don’t think Larry Ellison’s oracle cerner electronic health record is safe.

Here’s how to make passwords you will never forget but each site will have a unique password: 1. Open a random book to a random page. 2. Find the first 6-letter word. Capitalize it. 3. Add the last 2 digits of the page number and a special character like ! to it. This becomes the root of all 🧵

your passwords. 4. Now for each site, add the first and last consonant of the domain name. This is the finished password. If your root is Beagle57!, your Amazon password is Beagle57!mn. For Netflix it’s Beagle57!nx. After you change all your passwords you will easily remember your root,

I don't mind entering my email and account password, but then they send you a code. It takes me a few seconds to get a freakin' code, then the time runs out and I have to get a new code. I usually decide it's not worth it. I'm old, I don't have time to waste!😊

That's me, every time. I get frustrated and there are lots of times I just shut it down. I wish they would just send me a word for a code, instead of a number. I'm sort of "mathlexic". I'll have all the right numbers, but I put them down out of order. 🥴

This. So much this. Every time I call a company and they say they have an app, I’m like flat out no. I don’t want another damn account, username, or password. Just no. They need to figure something else out.

So the government can spy on you & then ARREST you when you bitch loudly. I blame Republicans & stupid Maga most of all....but Dem's had Congress many times & didn't fix our laws before Donny could take advantage...Will he start killing Americans next? People are scared in America...

So the oligarchy can commoditize your very existence, basically stealing your identity for profit while you get nothing in return except more of your rights taken as they use the riches that generated for them to further commoditize what inherently belongs to you for their own self-enrichment.

I worked for a company that had the opportunity to mine data from anyone playing a CD and they explicitly did not, stating so in writing. So quaint. Now they are part of Nielsen and listening to you through the Television. 📺 👂 your smart TV agreement allows this. True Story.

DING DING DING!!! I hate all this "age verification" BS, we all know it has nothing to do with "protecting kids". For a while I thought about starting a YouTube channel, but now? No way. Several creators I watch have said YT has demanded their photo ID to reactivate basic functions of their acct.

Exactly, and I’m sick of Mr. Kinzinger’s naïveté that he wasn’t partly responsible for this mess. He’s a Republican and these were his colleagues for years. He has the answers so why isn’t he dishing up the insider view point? WHERE IS HIS OWNERSHIP FOR THIS BS?

It seems like the need for accounts has evolved from a means of authentication and trust to a way to collect and track data. Perhaps it's a reflection of our society's shift towards valuing information over individual freedom.

Not true! It requires you ALSO have an app on your phone now. All I want to do is track a shipment in the year 2025, I don't need another trojan horse, thanks!

So that you unwittingly agree to allow them to track you and collect and sell your data, AND agree to never be able to sue them, AND so that when they get inevitably get hacked, the hackers get access to your card and contact information. It's the awesome future we've voted ourselves into.

This is what it means to leave that world, I have done it as much as I can, they say that China social credit thing is far off but it's been happening, I am proof, and I wish for a shift currently in favor of #ThePeople

Money. It's as simple as that. If I'm required to register on a site just to check out product or pricing, hard pass. If and when I decide to continue with the site, then I'll register.

it's absolutely infuriating when you can't buy a bloody bus ticket as a tourist from a mobile app because you need an account first. To make it even better, demand a phone number with the country prefix fixed.

Way to get rid of the sign up square. (A little technical though.) 1. Right click on the square. 2. Inspect 3. Right click on the element 4. Delete node 5. Exit out of Inspect mode If you do this carefully the square will be gone.
