You are not alone; the struggle is very real. As a brother vet who has a very worn copy of the Constitution in my back pocket I'm still confidant that the truth will get us through this.

Just KEEP telling the truth and eveything will be ok. NOT PERFECT. But you'll know you lived your life with integrity, right?

As also a veteran, I am honestly in constant disbelief and rage. It honestly feels like we did it for nothing sometimes. Good luck and Godspeed friend.

I totally understand your sense of despair and hopelessness. However, we do have to believe truthfulness will prevail. It's our only hope. There are many signs that a growing number of people recognize that the Trump administration is leading us down the wrong path. This may be our last chance.

I vacillate between helplessness, anger and despair. Hopeful that one day I will vacillate between hopefulness, joy and love!

If it's any consolation, your voice IS important. I feel helpless too, but try to do something such as train for this upcoming election to survey the safety of sites. I also appreciate voices like Timothy Snyder + Seth Abramson. I read history. & I also have lost all tolerance for MAGAs.

Yeah, but the feeling of helplessness is worse when you are older because you don't have time to wait for the truth to take over. The problem is that those who can do something aren't willing to sacrifice for the good of everyone else, even though it's only their job at risk. It's sickening.

That is the price of empathy. But I'd rather feel helpless from time to time than not be empathetic Be well and hang in there.

It’s hard watching wrongs that can’t be righted. Trees cut down. Immigrants deported to god knows where. Citizens killed by ICE. A wing of the WH demolished. Some things can’t be undone.

We all feel helpless with politics in our country. It's like watching a self-destructive addict who's someone you care about. I'm hoping our country "bottoms out" economically and politically enough to see the light.

i too suffer from helplessness sometimes but at the end of the day, i look at my situation compared to others that have far less than my measly monthly income and THEN I REALIZE THAT I HAVE MUCH MORE THAN MANY OTHERS and then i relax and continue with the day!👍🥰

FWIW - we are all dust motes living short lives in a vast & uncaring universe. But each of us can decide to be our best selves, and some of us are tested by situations where being something less would be easier. You faced such a test and passed it; many others did not.
