maybe im naiive but this doesnt seem so suspicious to me. Gopro is obviously not a smart investment but its a name brand and old enough to be vaguely nostalgia-associated to ppl raised on early youtube; it makes sense why a longtime youtuber like mark would think it still has potential and why...

The fact that he did a review/preview of their new camera a few days before and only disclosed that his vid was sponsored is the problem. Gives the impression of even less objectivity than usual for a YT sponsored vid

I get that he said he believed in their business and wanted to invest in a company that would enable other people to do what he did, but not disclosing upfront in his review that not only was it sponsored but that he’s a large investor was just dumb af

This is so fucking crazy because I invested a tiny portion of my portfolio into GoPro earlier this year, stopped because it got essentially delisted, noticed that it was my worst performing stock until one day it magically flipped to being my best. Bought a little more, now I'm breaking even. Wild.

ik he's on blast n stuff but this is the funniest scenario ive read in a bit. first cheating at fnaf 2, now unintentional securities fraud, soon a bank heist or something
