App passwords are actually the old method for logging in to third-party Bluesky/ATProto services — we use Bluesky's official OAuth flow, so you're actually being taken to Bluesky's website to login and not transferring your credentials to us at all!

fwiw, on iOS Safari, the “step inside” button only works if you like… press it a lot of times/press and hold it and then press it? not that big of a deal given the sign in button right in the corner ofc

Just confirmed this on our end, good catch! Should be fixed in a few minutes — it's small, but it's a detail that we think is important!

Is there a light mode? Dark mode is much more tiring for my eyes than light mode in every circumstance other than when I'm actually in a fully dark room/in bed. Also, I miss seeing everyone's profile pictures. Other than that, this is perfect. I'll be using it every day. Thanks for making it.

Yes! Also, optional toggle to enable avatars on post cards is in the works!

the diurnal (light mode) theme is ideal for flipping through the deck of post cards in broad daylight on e-ink displays 🌞 anisota.net 🌚

It’s a highly functional client for Bluesky, so these are needed in order for many of the features to work! Down the road when Bluesky upgrades their OAuth flow there might be a way for users to opt out of specific things, but at the moment it isn’t possible unfortunately. Happy to answer Qs tho!

currently more control over auth is not supported by the protocol Bluesky is built on, but it is in development! The way Anisota is built, auth naturally expires after a week or so by default

yup... had that same itch hehe, had to compromise to get this out the door sooner but definitely have plans to add more advanced and natural gestures!!

Slight bug with the tutorial I think? If you go back to the parsley after picking it up, you're stuck, because you can't pick it up twice

i found it confusing that the list and quotes i created during tutorial didn’t actually get posted/saved. worth warning (or fixing?)

Great point, we should flag that all the tutorial actions are demo-only, no records get created! Potentially could make the list one real and get started with a general "Bookmarks" list.

After installing, I don't have a forward button. I can get to it from the three dot quick access menu though. Chrome 140.0.7339.15 / Android 16 / Pixel 9
