Trump pardoned Jared Kushner's dad while Jared worked in the White House, then yesterday appointed Jared's dad as an ambassador, but Polis didn't have the same energy for that. Pathetic stuff that I for one won't soon forget.

Coloradan that voted for Polis twice. He’s been a huge disappointment with his embrace for RFK jr and this take on a pardon for Hunter. But - he was still the superior choice over crazy Heidi.

In 2005, following an investigation by the United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, US Attorney Chris Christie negotiated a plea agreement with him, under which Kushner pleaded guilty to 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering

POTUS's pardon power is plenary. He doesn't owe anybody an explanation for pardoning somebody. Also, Hunter isn't about to be ambassador to France. So let's move the outrage where it belongs, Gov. Polis.

He's a libertarian when it comes to businesses and a social democrat when it comes to civil rights. Seems like he is currently sucking up to Trump similar to how he sucks up to oil and gas while trying to look good. A big disappointment to many activists.

He has lost my vote. First he thinks RFK Jr is a good idea and now Hunters pardon…. which only happened because Trump won and plans to attack his rivals. Polis will no longer have my support he is veering off the rails

I always find it amusing that every time a DEM does something the GOP always has issue with it but when they explain it somehow it always sounds like they are talking about Trump instead.

Hypocritical of Polis - the stupid President Elect has proven that he is above the law given that he’s the first felon to be elected and his cases were dropped - so why should Biden stick to norms when they say they’re coming for everyone.

Joe was never going to allow for the destruction of Hunter’s future . It should have been a pardon from Kamala but in the end family is more important to Joe than any criticism or disapproval from the media . Totally understandable and I doubt Joe gives a f#ck what others think about the pardon .

I replied on another post that the governor must be angling for a job with the Trump administration. I’d like to add that another possibility is that he wants a cushy job with one of Trump’s corporate sponsors.

I kind of get why he's kissing Trump's ass. We know Trump denied, or tried to deny, funding to blue states during his first administration. But it's really scary to see people kneel before Zod like this. It's got a real "Who's going to protect us?" vibe.

Fuck that noise. Watch the melon felon pardon all the Jan 6 felons, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, Kushner, etc, etc. The rules aren't just for the Democrats...the Republicans are supposed to be following as well.

Everything you listed was wrong (for Trump to do). That doesn’t make it right for Biden to do the same. It’s a shame and a tragedy that this country of 300+ million is stuck with two failed but entrenched parties. The rise of Bluesky gives hope that nothing is forever.

Oh FFS. There are some things that people should not comment on at this point and this is one of those things. Biden was right to pardon Hunter. He's right about the case. I am glad he did ti. It was an unjust prosecution and would likely have won on appeal.

It seems as if Polis was sleeping through the whole Hunter which hunt over 4 years that Biden was president. Charging him with things others get dismissed. The GOP clown show displaying Hunter’s penis to the world. No, not the same. I will not lose sleep over Hu tee’s pardon!

Biden pardoned his son because of the terrible persons Trump is nominating to run the Justice Department. I don’t blame him. Bondi refused to allow Florida residents who were scammed by Trump University to sue for compensation. This is part of her reward. She also received campaign funds.

When Hunter is put in a place of authority & power (President/Cabinet), or is found to have threatened the life of innocent ppl, violently tried to bring US democracy down, threatened to imprison his prosecutors or reporters on said cases, maybe then ppl have a justification to object about a pardon.

Some day, long after I've passed away, Democrats will come to understand that they have been foolishly, slavishly dedicated to the rules, norms and traditions of a game that the GOP stopped playing with tricky Dick Nixon.

oh the precedent! the tarnishing of his reputation! Democrats need to be squeaky clean at all times! meanwhile Voldemoron pardoned a literal war criminal, personally profited from his office, etc. etc. ad nauseum and no one GAF about his “reputation”

The media cares more about a good man who is looking out for his struggling son than a conman trying to bring fascism into the White House... AGAIN! Like we didn't learn the first time! The media helped him get elected the first time and they are still feeding off his toxic energy.

It's called the news business for a reason. Money talks. There are incredible journalists/investigative reporters doing their best to get the truth out but many are employees of those businesses. If they had covered the Trump Crime Family the way they cover Dems, we might be in a better place.

Hunter Biden would never have been prosecuted if he weren’t the son of Joe Biden. And if he’d been prosecuted, his plea deal wouldn’t have been scuttled. To pretend the pardon is political but the prosecution wasn’t is complete shite.

Polis knows a short, overweight, balding, gay Jewish guy is not going to be nominated for the ticket. I think he’s maybe thinking about a Senate seat and wants to reel in some moderates/independents.

Roger Clinton, the president's brother, was pardoned for drug charges after having served the entire sentence more than a decade earlier. Roger Clinton would be charged with drunk driving and disorderly conduct in an unrelated incident within a year of the pardon.

Democrats & Republicans & Reactionary Centrists all agree on this: Dems are the "good guys" so they need to play by rules and are a disappointment if they don't. The GOP are the "bad guys" so they break rules, trash norms etc. because that's their core nature, and there's no point scolding.

Yes, because if no one is held to the norm then it's no longer a norm. It's unfair, and anti facists do have to be strategic, but celebrating that a person in a position of power isn't seeing consequences for those crimes is just not it.

If a convicted felon can sit in the Whitehouse's highest office, how can a reasonable person state that this pardon will tarnish Biden's reputation? Notice how I said "sit" instead of "serve". Intentional. Joe Biden has served this country well these last 4 years. He has a right to protect his son.

Don-the-Con is a well-documented, pathological lying bank/insurance/tax fraud, career criminal, and despicable excuse for a human being. FDT!! He can seek revenge against his imaginary enemies elsewhere. Glad you're protecting your son, JB!!

Biden needs to man up I mean hell he has presidential immunity. I think a seal team six raid on Mar-a-Lago shouldn’t be off the table.

To Polis: "Pater Familias of the nation?" Oh, that's a good one. Try it on Tramp, willya? He won't know wtf you're talking about! When did *he* ever consider acting that way when he was in office? smfh

THIS is a bad precedent??? The pardons that the orange menace gave and threatens to give in the future didn't cross Jared Polis' sightline???? The 🍊🤡 will do whatever suits him no matter what has been done before. He, not President Biden, set the precedent for any perceived overreach.

This is the worst kind of nonsense. "No one is above the law"? Are you kidding me? We all know that is the most absurd lie. Donald Trump is above the law and his henchmen will go after Hunter Biden without any scruples. When will folks wake up and see the world we now live in? Joe does.

Trump was subjected to all sorts of legal attacks by a hostile regime and he came out without any convictions. The FBI literally covered up Hunter’s laptop. I’m a democrat but this is absurd and makes us all look stupid.

Every case Trump faced in court with a jury or judge he lost. The only cases he wasn't convicted in were the ones that didn't make it to court and the two biggest were dismissed without prejudice.

Since he has a blue check, I assume this is from twitter. Leave that shit over there. Embarrassingly, I didn't recognize the name, so I googled. It's the same guy who's looking forward to working with RFKjr to end vaccinations. Set phasers to "ignore."
