Coons: "I'm alarmed by reports Trump is considering allowing Nvidia to sell China their most advanced chip. The defining fight of the 21st century will be who controls AI... it would be a tragic mistake for Trump, in order to get some soybeans out of China, to sell them these critical AI chips"

Trump has managed to get a cut. He think's he's clever. Art of the disastrous deal. But... Trump would sell out US national security if he thought it represented a lucrative deal that would appear to boost his damaged ego. The US is paying a massive price with this presidency.

Trump is a fucking moron. And he's such a shitty businessman he bankrupted not just one, but three fucking casinos - businesses that practically print money. Do you know how fucking stupid and incompetent you have to be to bankrupt a casino?

Trump and his administrations are not negotiators, they are pillagers, and their target is their own home. In every negotiation with other nations, they are laughably outclassed by those countries' negotiators

America is conflicted. Russia and China pull the strings, they achieved this because the GOP is a ceepit of grifters and traitors. Cambridge Analytica outsourced to Canada, who outsourced to Russian developers. China works with Russia to manipulate Trump and no one can see the connections.

Free & democratic societies hoped that mingling & trading with autocratic states would cause them to open up & be free & democratic too. Sadly, the more we mix with them, the more autocracy has been taking over us a toxic erasure of our best, most admirable legacies.

Trump, Inc., is all wrapped up in crypto currencies right now, he doesn't have time to think about chips, AI, and all that nonsense, unless he needs to be seen in a fighter jet dropping loads of shit on the American people. 🙄

These completely ridiculous statements make more sense when you remember they are coming from the same generation that got obsessed with Beanie Babies and fist fought their own family members for a Tickle Me Elmo. They'll be the first in line with a "No one could have seen this coming!"

Oh, poor Chris. The defining fight of the 21st century is energy production. What Chris calls AI are nothing but gigantic data farms with unsustainable energy requirements. Fermi is building more nuclear reactors for just this reason.

Ironically as most of the packaging of these chips is done in China, so it's become a regular thing that cards 'fall off the truck' on the way to various ports and are then sold all over China. Gamers Nexus did a video on how that all works over a month ago.

1/ coons is an idiot. Dems need to stop pretending that there is this AI arms race, in which one AI program will emerge victorious and vanquish/subordinate all others. And Coons is also an idiot if he thinks this is about soybeans--its about rare earth minerals, and its Trump acknowledging that

Trump doesn't care--more importantly, the techbros running him don't care. They see money, and these dudebros would absolutely run over their own mothers if that would guarantee greater profits--and then back up over her body if that would add a little more cash to the deal.

Why do people keep thinking Donald Trump gives a flying fuck about what's good for the US? He clearly does not, in fact he cares more about Argentina for a start. This vile creature will sell the very American ground under your feet if he can personally profit from it.

I bet it's another market manipulation...Nvidia jumped to $210 today... tomorrow tRump will tell everyone that it will not happen and that he will put 1000% tariffs on semiconductors. Meanwhile his fucking family and buddies buying the dip after selling the jump...

1/ nope. China holds all the cards because of its control of rare earth minerals. I suspect China is getting impatient with Trump's claims of anational secuity to restrict exports/impose tariffs on China...and all China has to do is say "no more rminerals for you" to send the US (and world)

China’s desire to invade Taiwan isn’t so much about reclaiming the remaining part of the real China and putting it under dictatorship, it’s about making Western technology companies completely dependent on China.
