Trump: "If you look at affordability, which they campaigned on, they lied. Because they talked about 'Oh, prices are up' -- no, prices are down under the Trump administration and they're down substantially."

Republicans think that by LARPing as if they care about affordability they will continue to gain support IN SPITE OF THE FACT that they are taking actions that directly result in increased prices... food, health insurance, consumer goods, all directly more expensive because of their actions.

It's funny that he thinks he can just say this and people will believe him. I know he sells a lot of lies, but this one? Anyone who's not super-wealthy is very aware of how high prices are right now.

Early into this bleep show of a presidency, he was claiming it was already down to $1.98 (in many places, many people are saying). Man just continues to pull numbers out of his backside. No sentient human being believes any of this.

He thinks he can get away with this lie because he has no clue what common folks can actually see. Like we see the price increases at the store whereas ol piss pants has never grocery shopped for himself..he has no clue we can see the prices..

Down 10000 percent in most cases, actually 20000 or more. Most people are saving too much money. They call me up and say “Sir what do I do with all this money? I say, I don’t want the credit, just enjoy it”

Dems need a commercial asking voters, "Do you have an elderly relative in cognitive decline?" while listing symptoms to clips of Trump displaying them all. Turn his nickname game against him. "Demented Don". "Would you give them keys to a car? How about the nuclear arsenal?" Gloves off. No mercy.

He lies as he breathes. It's one thing to lie about issues MAGA doesn't experience for themselves and will readily believe. But lying about prices being down when EVERYONE is impacted by high prices (except for the wealthy) is beyond ridiculous and will (and should) be a much harder sell to MAGA.

If Trump is talking about the price of Republican politicians, he’s right. The price of a Congressman or Senator has crashed, and Trump deserves all the credit. Corporations and those looking for favors go straight to the White House with their bribes. The market for legislators is in the toilet.

Anyone buy one of those half-priced new homes Trump promised yet? "We will eliminate regulations that drive up housing costs with the goal of cutting the cost of a new home in half. We think we can do that" Trump at New York Economic Club, 9/5/24

How's that half price gas and electricity coming along, America? “Under my administration, we will be slashing energy and electricity prices by half within 12 months, at a maximum 18 months” - Trump campaigning in North Carolina, 8/14/24

Strange that all the voters decided they agreed with the Dems then and voted for them. Almost as if they were capable of working out for themselves that prices were rising rapidly…

"In fact, I've brought grocery prices, that old word I re-discovered, groceries, down 500, 300, 800%. Stores are actually delivering, did you know stores now deliver things? they're delivering things to your door and paying you to take them. So I'm not worried about affordability.

Yes, when I presented my ID to the clerk so I could pay for The Groceries he said "Sir, have you noticed how much smaller your bill is? and that's thanks to President Trump" a small tear then appeared in the corner of his eye

No one believes him... I mean it's getting harder to find someone that says he's not lying. Some don't care he lies, though. They're scary. Like my friend's mom who is a retired pediatrician. 3x voter of his and has a trans son. She said, "I never should've told you I voted for him this time".

Remember when George Bush was mocked for going into a supermarket and being amazed by a barcode scanner? It became a moment showing how out of touch he was to the working class. Compared to Trump, he was a true man of the people.

This coming from a guy who never heard of the word "groceries" until 2024. This coming from the guy who said, just yesterday, that he didn't want to hear about affordability. The man is uninformed and delusional.

Is it mendacity beyond all comprehension or just run of the mill dementia? Not that there's not a vast middle ground here for him to occupy. Either way... 25 Amendment? Get Sofa boy in there for a bit to be the face of the greatest defeat since the Civil War?

Could Justin Webb be paid lots more money by the Murdoch Mafia to write another column about how Trump is 'making America normal again'? Journalists hold those in power to account while client journalists apparently will say anything for money. #Americast #r4today

I'm not an American, but Al Franken's sexual misconduct and subsequent political downfall was still a huge disappointment. After he'd moved from a comedy career into political activism and then been twice elected to the Senate, it was bizarre to watch his improbable rise and then such an abrupt fall

That’s an amazing way to put it. I’ve never thought about it that way. Instead of actually trying to fix problems, he just tries to create his own reality and speak his desires into existence.

Except I’m not sure it will work this time. He can make hand wavy claims that an election is rigged or other countries are investing billions of dollars in our country and his cult can’t prove otherwise. But even his cult personally experiences sticker shock at the grocery store.

Dems didn’t just win big this week, they felled Trumps presidency. He can’t get the filibuster eliminated, can’t get peace in Ukraine, can’t get the national guard deployed, can’t win his tariff case, can’t win his ice prosecutions. A failing and incompetent administration

"Affordability”, yesterday’s Word of the Day, brought to you by a man who thinks reality is optional. Prices aren’t down, rump just lie so much he has started believing his own fiction. Keep talking though, he's doing great… every sentence is another campaign ad for the Democrats.
