El-Sayed: "We've been talking about an illegal apartheid regime for a very very long time, and that supersedes Netanyahu itself. So I just think we need to treat Israel the way we would treat any other country that behaved the way Israel is behaving."

Why doesn’t someone follow up with a question about human rights abuses in Egypt or Saudi Arabia? Make him stand for human rights everywhere and not just Israel.

We absolutely should not be supporting Netanyahu, and also, that’s a completely bullshit statement, given how many other murderous authoritarians (like MbS) we also support.

Way back in Obama’s first term, Obama said Israel should stop building settlements. He was brutally attacked in the media. He was right, though. I hope every candidate AIPAC supports loses.

He’d be smart to talk quickly about Israel and move onto what the domestic polices he liked to see. The media is going to continue to pound him about Israel because they are trying to paint him as some radical. Don’t fall for it

I don’t disagree with this, but emphasising the unspeakable Bibi and his apparent control over Capt 💩 Pants will help people - like me! - who believe in the right of Israel to exist but despise deeply Bibi specifically.

I support Israel, but I do not support Netanyahu or the Lihud party. We need to get back to when Rabin was P.M and was so close to a fair 2 state solution. The rhetoric that the D.S.A spews though is just the same tired antisemitic propaganda that gets regurgitated every few decades.

Why is he not angry that Palestinians elected Hamas? Does he think the Arab states believe in freedom? You can be pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian state and anti-Netanyahu, anti-settler. This doesn’t have to be zero sum.

Ann, that is such a nothing opinion though. What does it mean to be pro-Israel? Does that mean being ok with the occupation happening in the west bank? Does that mean being ok with stripping the rights of millions of Palestinians?

In my case, it means I differentiate between Israelis and Bibi. I recognize that a minority of Israelis support him, just as a minority of US citizens support Don, but I support the majority who don’t like Bibi or his war, and I support a peaceful resolution that benefits Israelis and Palestinians.

You seems to forgot about a war where Israel was invaded in 1967 and another where was attacked on all sides in 1973. Plus President Clinton tried to broker a peace that offered most of the west bank and a 2 state solution that the Palestinians turned down, they wanted it all. People have tried.

America must stop its irrational support for Israel. Why do we give them money while they're committing genocide in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank? Israel is a threat to the Middle East.

Interesting that the voters candidates have to cater to are always to their right. AES needs conservative Jewish votes to win, but not the votes of the poor? Of Arabs? Of queer people? Of anti-Zionist Jews? No, we can all safely be ignored, apparently.

Is that what you got out of what he said ? Did he mention that? Of course, we made mistakes in the past. He's talking about changing our approach to foreign affairs, and be more consistent with our stated values.

Apartheid…no…it’s not an illegal regime, either. Tiresome trope Netanyahu & most of his cabinet are DBs. Netahyahu’s a tired, s-for-brains hack whose time has passed. Israel needs new ideas/leaders. If AES keeps talking this way, lots of Jewish Michiganders will either stay home or pull lever for R.

Bibi is Israel’s Trump. As an American, would you like to be labeled as someone who hates Iranians bc of Trump’s war? Of course not. But that is happening with the Gaza war. Israel and Jews around the world are being blamed for Bibi’s actions.
