Wow. No. 90% of the politicians who consider themselves 'Democratic Socialists' are referring to the policies of the Nordic Centrist countries. Abdul El-Sayed and Bernie Sanders are NOT members of the DSA, for example. Conflating that fact is very bad reporting.

Maybe because a lot of Dem voters realize the rot goes a lot deeper than just Trump? And that insiders refuse to do what was and still is necessary to get to the root problem (broken political system that doesn't fix things and related oligarchy)? And vapid media like Axios is part of this.

Obviously you have to be about more than just standing up to Trump, although that is important. Lots of Dem voters are looking for bolder candidates with bolder visions who support bold ideas like Medicare for All, abolishing ICE, fighting data centers, etc.

They're struggling to withstand their irrelevance in the current moment. Times have changed.... it's time to pick a side.

“Anti-Trump resistance” has to be about more than “I don’t like Trump and I disagree with him doing the things I want Democrats to do” which is why those people lost credibility. People want to move away from the bad policies, systems, and conditions that got us Trump twice.
