Rules for thee but not for me!
The fact that Microsoft / OpenAI can get away with this shit. But Aaron (who was a public hero) was practically murdered by the courts because he wanted to share knowledge and make the world a better place.
Just drives me up the fucking wall.
Of course they knew. They'd be the first to sue you if you used their text.
They just thought their size outweighed everything else and that they'd get away with it because they weren't "republishing" it, just using it to train a probability machine.
Of course they did. They made a cheap apology after taking what they wanted. All of them. Have any authors received the payout from Anthropic? I haven't. Steal, say sorry, walk away.
FYI, the linked article provides an elevenlabs-based tts for reading the article. Elevenlabs specifically is a company that uses generative ai for tts. Text to speech itself is not inherently generative ai, but elevenlabs is. The linked site thus went with the worse option.
It is incomprehensible that the President and Republicans have refused to take a stand on Hearings related to AI Investments. Investments in AI companies seem to be driving that position. Why have Hakkem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer, presumed opposition to these guys, been so comatose on the issue
Oh, I can believe it.
There is now little about these companies and their minions I would NOT believe.
They steal artists work, reguritate slop, and create kidy porn.
Some how this is being treated as legal, if not moral.
Until their little bubble bursts...
...and we release the hounds!
