How about we recall the batteries that catch fire when charging? I feel like that should not be the normal experience.

In 7th grade my science teacher made us pack an egg in a cardboard box & make it survive being thrown at the wall & dropped from the roof. I used popcorn. I came in 2nd. Because that was the year bubble wrap was introduced & Kathy Next Door got some from somewhere.

It’s not plugged in, and the flames appear to be plastic, so I don’t think it’s actually popping the popcorn, just holding it. Which means it could probably be 3d printed.

Fires caused by UL Certified Batteries are extremely rare. Fires caused by Bosch System batteries are all but mythical. Don't buy a temu-ass ebike. Charging high quality ebike batteries with the correct charger while sleeping or away from home is not dangerous.

It's almost like they should be more aggressive with their better recalls and have better battery regulation but here we are...

Remember, these are just bigger versions of cell phone batteries, and when's the last time you heard of cell phones exploding? 10 years ago with the Note 7 and it was a Big Deal™. If lithium batteries were as unsafe as the media implies, phones would be popping every damn day.

The ones that are catching fire are ones that were imported from sketchy factories and never passed safety inspection, cobbled together by amateurs, modified in unsafe ways, or severely damaged and still being used.
