Whomever made we that statistic never met an Australian Shepherd. They ard pure energy, sleep 4 hours plus 1 hour nap go recharge. Zoomies 2x a day and a whole Lotta kisses to share. Pure chaotic joy.

There have been studies mapping canine brainwaves in their waking hours and comparing them to the brainwaves during REM sleep. They is a direct link. So they are able to say that a brainwave pattern while dreaming matches a specific experience in waking hours. Fascinating.

Absolutely agree, but be careful with even those folks. Remember, animals don't ask much of us so it is super easy to both be kind and loving to them and still treat the people in your life like shit

I never know if it’s good dreams or bad dreams. Sometimes when I think my dog is trippin in his sleep I wake him up. If he was having a nightmare he’ll usually dap me up w his paw and say “grood rooking out”

Yes Apparently yipping in their sleep is a sign of a happy dog My Butters gets quite concerned when hearing Mr Bear do it Sneezing is a full on emergency Sneezing is a language for shitzu’s, & mine are half shitzu Sneeze at your dog & watch their reaction Its hilarious

I used to do this to my cat who had been tortured as a kitten and often whined in her sleep. When I woke her, she usually was disoriented for a moment but then started purring, so I think it was the right thing to do. The whining eventually stopped, but it took several years.

Poor baby. My dog does it at least twice a week and I just reach over and rub him gently to let him know everything is ok. I wish I could see what he was dreaming about. Does he think about his previous family that had to give him up? It must’ve been hard for them too b/c he’s literally a perfect 🐕
