Okay, people are already getting really depressed and frustrated with the Next Fest, so I'll say what I said last time round: Wait a day or two. They order the games on the pages by hours played, and 99% of the AI garbage will sink like a stone. Right now it's just undifferentiated and unranked.

I hear ya, but that day or 2 stopped anyone seeing my game when I did next fest 😅 and because no one saw it, it sank with them. I did learn a lot tho, can't rely on steam fests anymore to get attention on games, you need to already have it to do okay in them

It really sucks as it's already hard enough when it comes to visibility. Considering Steam has a built in AI disclosure it should be easy to have us filter these out without using external plugins or such. Luckily around tomorrow we should be able to use the personalized mode on the store page.

Last Next Fest is was like 50% AI garbage on the front page at first. The moment they had some actual data, you had to go through HUNDREDS of games to find anything significantly slopped up.

I hope so! These first few days are SO important for visibility of our game that it’s scary to see that potentially jeopardized.

Valve's entire MO for the past decade has been 'Why hire people when you can write an algorithm to do it all for you?'. They have never and will never care.
