One year ago, I came to Montreal on a whim and met an incredible woman in a bar. A year later and my world has changed completely as we’ve been building a beautiful life together!

I’ve been having some CPU cooling issues, so I did a fan upgrade from some older Noctua silent fans to the latest and greatest (stupidly expensive!) Noctua airflow fans. They’re great! Night and day difference. I went from three case fans on my Mini-ITX build to two but temps dropped by 10° C.

Some people have been modding this case (the NZXT H210) to remove the metal PSU shroud since it causes super low GPU height clearance and chokes your GPU airflow by a lot. Maybe another day.

Last I'll post about this, but Elon Musk disagrees with me. This means I am onto something, and I feel more valid in my opinion than ever.

Happy Steam Next Fest day! except to all of the AI slop game developers who have filled this event with so much garbage

These companies are putting out such frequent, bizarre announcements about their newest AI slop initiatives that we've all already forgotten about Space Corridor 😔

Let's go, Sam Forstag! That's how you stand up for trans people on the national stage. If congressional candidates in western Montana—one of the most competitive House races in the entire country—can stand up for trans folks in every aspect of our lives, democrats everywhere should take note.

-- we now know that bobby kotick was an epstein pal! but sure, the problem was writers covering non-commercial works by diverse emerging artists simply out of deep affection for the medium and sincere desire for alternatives to that swath of corporate shit

maybe i'm old fashion but the coolest thing about video games is being taken to new worlds that i hadn't thought up and experiencing something exciting that the artists behind the game want to show me

The video advertising Unity's ew AI-driven autocomplete game maker has 'Mari' who has a game idea they "always wanted to make" and that idea is "Space Corridor" and it looks like this, and that's the strongest argument I can think of for keeping game dev out of the pro-AI crowd's hands.

I often see people argue that clean energy is not reducing emissions, because it just adds to rather than replaces fossil fuels. This argument is deeply misguided – clean energy built since 2005 has displaced 23 billion tons. I dive in over at The Climate Brink:

theclimatebrink.comWhat if the world hadn't built wind and solar?Clean energy does not simply “add to” global energy use; it displaces fossil sources that would otherwise get built.

I feel like I’m close to declaring game backlog bankruptcy!! So many games that I have wanna play but so much work to do on our own game 😵

I put a haiku in this one. I'm the marketing manager, and that means I get to put a haiku in the short form vertical content. I can do that sometimes, as a treat. Our demo comes out OCTOBER 8TH! That's NEXT THURSDAY! #gamedev #indiegamedev #gaming #videogames

The worst part about twitter is there are a number of people who think they have to be active there who are left-leaning but have had their brains absolutely cooked by the site. You can't inundate yourself in exposure to that stuff without it having an impact on you.

Data centers promise jobs but hire few people That's why I propose a law that every data center must hire 1,000 Priests of Data to worship the computers, pray to the servers, light candles, etc. The priests will boost the local economy and fill the air with the sweet sound of their Gregorian chants

there's a great interview with a developer on Civ where they said, paraphrased, "a feature should never be the computer having fun instead of the player" and I think about this every time I'm working on procgen. It's often a strong argument to expose more of what you're doing.

Procedural generation can mean a lot of work that no one notices - assuming it goes well. So the question is, says @joshscherr.bsky.social - do you know why you're doing it? Check out the full conversation here: www.inklestudios.com/kaleidoscope...

We are at the break glass moment on the Democratic Party and its treatment of transgender people, and it is my opinion that if we don’t act now and loudly demand to be heard, we will suffer the consequences of their shift.

I advocate for withholding your vote from the leading anti-trans Dems, the ones calling us biological males and/or declaring they will be in favor of healthcare restrictions. So of course Will, who I have never had beef with, compares our anger to a cult and drives extreme harassment my way.
