Hard to work out where the Green's 16.7% boost came from. Must be previous none voters or a lot of ex Tory voters. Does that seem possible?

Makes sense but I had assumed (I hope I was wrong) that if Con voters shifted they would go to Reform. It would be great if this was replicated in more seats in future.

I'd think it unlikely that there was much of a shift from Con to Green. Turnout was a lot lower this time; the extra Green votes could have come almost entirely from the collapse of the Labour and LD votes; and lots of previous Con and Deform votes may have stayed at home.

Not at all surprising: I expect we'll see a lot more of this kind of result bsky.app/profile/adam...

A lot of the field research suggests that the voters labour have lost to reform (which isn't a huge % nationally but are a substantial share in many key seats) are just fed up and want to see real radical change, and they're far more likely to switch to green than ever go back to labour

Let’s not get fooled into thinking Green can win on tactical voting alone. Keep up the pressure (especially on Labour MPs) to move to proportional voting. Then we can ALL vote FOR the party that comes closest to our beliefs rather than AGAINST Faragists and other right wing nuts.

The two by-elections in neighbouring areas are a great example of how to defeat the far right and how not to do it. Good to see the Greens win here and voters of the other parties voting tactically.
