“Could hit $3.25” ?! It’s been there for quite some time, rarely dipping below $3 in most areas unless you have a membership in some discount program. Translation = $5

Update as of PI day, no discounts considered, areas within 2 hours drive of Washington DC (prices inside the district are always much higher): Average price of regular = $3.49 Average price of diesel = $4.99

Because of 2 days of a Hormuz blockade? Fuel is produced from existing storage so this is nothing but a scammy way of making money over a self created crisis The oil in ships right now will not be used in refineries for at least 6 months and longer

Same was true about the price of eggs. Producers significantly raised the price on the "prospect" that the bird-flu would cull the flock. When that didn't happen or wasn't as bad as expected, they made a windfall profit using the crisis to surge prices. Gas will be no different.

Yes it’s called shitty rich people having a fit because no one wants them in charge of anything and everyone wants them to pay their fucking taxes- start a war to hide pedos and rapists and the price of gas goes up? It’s like Xmas in March

And it will only get worse. It should surprise absolutely no one since we've been for decades told this would be the immediate effect of a war with Iran.

It's a good thing trump promised to get gas down below $2 a gallon. According to him, gas has been below $2 a gallon since 2025. I confess, I must have missed that year, since I found no evidence of such a price.

WOW. just on how they worded the title of this article. It just rolls off your tongue freely, without any emotion. There should be some kind of grit in it! Displeasure, Anger Something more than how this reads. That's all this presidency is. Costly! financially & now in life form. Stop normalizing!

Price of gas went up 10cents a gallon yesterday at every station here in the Austin area. Before any new oil or gas hit the market. Purely coordinated gouging so expect the worst as people fill up asap.

I know. I live there. The stations all have gas in their holding tank that didn't cost them $4.25. It's profit making. Same with refineries. It's ridiculous. I've seen what happens when we get prices that high. The economy tanks and it doesn't take long.

Billionaire tax will never pass bc, well, billionaires. We need to call it Graduated Rate and have under $1 million taxed at zero. Rapidly increasing rate at 3 or 5 mill so basic wealthy people (2 income professional households, say) will vote yes. Normie WA residents can grasp benefits if told.

I still remember the panic when Bush started the war and I was told to fill up the gas tank because price would go up. I'm still waiting for that gas to climb back down but I guess it doesn't even matter anymore.

Unrelated to this particular increase in gas prices but American gas is dirt cheap because it is insanely subsidized. Gas should be expensive. This should drive us to better choices... electric cars ... etc. In America though, we subsidize bad choices and punish good choices.

DOGE: Failed Tariffs: Failed No New Wars: Failed Lower energy prices: Failed Seems the only thing this administration can do successfully is terrorize the American people with ICE.

Not just the USA, this is going to hit many nations hard, especially in Europe. Prices everywhere will jump upwards.

Depending on how long shipments of oil through the Strait of Hormuz are constrained, Europe and East Asia will face greater hardships due to importing more energy than they produce. I initially did one for selected countries, but regional trends became quite clear. Russia & the USA look to benefit.

Nobody can properly price gas when populations of GCC countries are starving and have no drinking water going into the summer because the Persian Gulf is closed to commercial traffic. Even AI can't account for black swans.

Oralè Resisters “They want to kidnap, cage and Deport our people because they do not like us but like sending Us to war” Latino servicemen receiving blessing from father and tearfully saying good by To his family.

It's funny not funny- The U.S. produces 100% more oil than it consumes, they rest gets exported for huge profits but our Gas/Oil industry started gouging us 8 hours after the first missiles killed those school children. Grrrrrr

Of course it is. Trump is always looking for more ways to rob the American people to line his pockets and those of his millionaire/billionaire friends. There is always money for war but not insurance coverage for its citizens. Let's not forget the ballroom and Argentina.

O Joy we get to pay higher gas prices! I’m just tickled pink what about y’all? Folks if we have to pay more for gas, because old Donny started a war in the Middle East, we really should get to see ALL the Epstein files without the redaction!

I’m not worried about gas prices. I’m concerned about hundreds of civilians killed for Donald to distract from the conversation of him being a murdering pedophile. I’m fretting over my tax dollars being funneled up to billionaires through illegal wars.

WAR PREMIUM AT THE PUMP: Conflict in the Gulf, energy sites hit, shipping risk up—now drivers pay. Gas edging toward $3.25 isn’t random; it’s geopolitics priced in. Escalation abroad shows up at home. Foreign policy decisions echo in household budgets fast.

Surpassed that already in Atlanta today and the week has just gotten started. Plus we're usually well below the national average.👇

Sticker shock at the pumps today. Reg Gas was $2.799 on Saturday, now up $0.50 two days later. That didn't take long. A 18% increase. Expect transportation costs to ripple thru the economy with markedly higher prices on everything. A tRump Iran war tax on top of tariffs and a new round of inflation.

And I'll also point out that even if these gas producers never see an increase in the price of oil they use, that will reap hand over fist profits off of you and me. Just like the mythical egg prices a couple years ago 👇

Same here in Citrus County. This is complete BS price gouging. The increased price oil is weeks away from being at the gas pumps. We're getting screwed yet again. Florida's AG used to go after this during hurricanes. Why not now?

MAGA can’t shut up long enough to hear crickets. Besides…stripping regulations from pesticides killed them all anyway. I predict they’ll pull one of their “What does ‘expensive’ really mean anyway?” or they’ll explain why higher fuel prices are good actually…and that Trump is playing 3D Chess.

Depends on your use. I drive mine about 30 miles round trip to work every day and here and there to grocery etc. I had a level 2 installed at home so I’m topped off every morning. It’s great lol. But, we do have a gas vehicle for long trips. I have found charging stations to be unreliable.

I have a level 2 charging station at my home. 🤷‍♂️ Have had the EV 4 years. Never once came close to even needing a public charger.

I live in California so we have a fairly robust infrastructure though it could be better. I have a home charger so I only use the stations on long-ish trips. Plus I have an adapter that allows me to use pretty much all type of charger.

Ironically this could be the ‘kick’ we need to transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources. When enough folks decide that ICE is not worth the cost they will try something else. And may allow some of those sweet EV to slip in from Canada and Mexico (like Coke with cane sugar)

Prices could hit $3.25 this week? For most of the last year our gas prices went from $3.19 to $3.29, and back again many times. For our area this is the normal price of gas. So if it did jump to $3.25, I don't think most people in our area would notice.
