I’ve lost track of the number of times an immigrant has told me they had to sit on a prison bus in the back of an airport for six, 10, 20 hours with no food or water and being told to urinate in a corner or onto themselves.

It's not just supposition, this is exactly how it works historically. From slave owners/overseers to colonizers/militia to business moguls/Pinkertons, it's all about dehumanizing the other side to the point you don't see the harm being done.

This is why education, ethics, and empathy are so reviled by these people. They know that if we see that harm reflected back at us, if it resonates in any way that isn't "greedy predator taking rightful prey," they'll lose the power to enforce the abuse necessary for them to maintain privilege.

For that same reason they hate animal rights and the environment. The minute we concern ourselves with the greater system of life we live in, we break the illusion of control we have over it and thus have to contend with the consequences. It's why they love the allure of artificial slaves in tech.

I think of the more disturbing things about Trump’s movement is that. A lot of his supporters think that it’s good that this happens to the folks they scooped up, and that they wish worse things would happen to them.

I report on ICE flights because flight-tracking allows us to get a lot of information about the Trump regime's mass torture of immigrants. But man, someday, the buses will be just as notorious as the planes. We have gulags in the sky, AND we have gulags on wheels.

As long as they never ever use trains. Because *then* they could be compared to the Nazis. Without trains it can never ever be called fascism, you see. At best sparkling authoritarianism. /s
