im aware lol, im more pointing out how bizarre it is that remake is fairly close with a couple changes until a big event happens that seems to indicate things will be very different from this point, like 1.0 and 2.0, except instead of diverging after that it just continues mostly as normal

I'm so close to finishing Rebirth, and if this trajectory continues, Revelation is going to be 200 hours long.

Tifa at that point is trying to make sure Cloud is OK. I think Aerith would be 50/50 which team she joins based on whether she thinks Shin-Ra will imprison her, but maybe it’s weighted toward Cloud because bodyguard

And arguably, Shinra messing with Jenova was a big reason Jenova was able to Do All Of That. Sephiroth doesn't exist for Jenova to puppet if Shinra doesn't do SOLDIER.

I know comparing it to Kingdom Hearts is a bad faith meme but this is literally the KH structure. At this point FF7’s story is the Disney Worlds: the formality we sit through until an incredibly backloaded finale that rushes through all its new ideas.

The final battle is going to absolutely swap between the main cast fighting in one universe and Zack/Aerith in another, no way it wont.

They should do the thing where they put the ceo of Square Enix in the game because he's the real villain now

I gotta be real I feel like this is just the inevitable consequence of the ff7 compilation existing at all. We shouldve never learned anything more about Zack. Now everyone has become a blorbo. I also think this specific problem is very common in retelling/remakes of (see Scott Pilgrim Takes Off)
