this image was clearly made with such burning hate and yet over the years these two have become warm friends. they tapped into something real and true. me when i find a cool stick

I think I want to be a model kit person Dunno what I’m going for but Lego sets swing from “finish in an evening” to “I can’t feasibly afford this” and I want some more involved projects that don’t bankrupt me

bleak but unsurprising BCNDP has nobody to blame for this but themselves

I would be absolutely thrilled to see the federal government actually help our creative industries after nothing but year after year of layoffs and cuts.

What a great write up. Echoes a lot of feelings I have about the homebrew/modding space. People are all too happy to slop together a port or a mod and call it a day, throwing it onto GitHub/Nexus Mods then throwing up their hands to say “works on my machine” instead of supporting it

Aftermath@aftermath.site

Every single hobby I love has has been infected by slopped up and unserious software. It's exhausting. aftermath.site/ai-slop-hobbie...

I am a huge supporter of game modding. Whether it’s squeezing out extra performance, higher graphical settings, or QoL gameplay/difficulty tweaks, if you bought it you can do what you want with the files But using AI for it feels like a bull in a china shop

Yo a cool new feature?

we've identified another vulnerability leak. now hackers on the dark web have identified your bad knee and that weird thing your shoulder does if you sleep on it wrong. there's no patch available for this, they're now just keenly aware you feel like your career has stalled out

There will be new studios, and new franchises, and new cool things to capture the imagination. But we can still mourn an icon. And more importantly, extend our sympathies for all the lost jobs and work lost.

I do love the juxtaposition of casuals going “BOOOO YELLOW PAINT” and speedrunners with extensive, intimate knowledge of the game going “oh yeah that’s a good change, that room sucks ass” lol

It’s hard for me to criticize the game showing/telling you more, when in ‘98 there was an entire side industry for official game guides that just doesn’t exist anymore

“boooo they added a spotlight to wallmasters and you can mash out of them” how many of you have ever been caught by a wallmaster more than once anyone with critical thinking can look at the remake and go “yeah of course a simple drop shadow indicator is gonna get lost in the new lighting”

Business Insider confirms it: Amazon has warehouses of GPUs that can’t be installed, and is buying them so far in advance that a supply chain team said they “didn’t have a clear forecasted path” to installing them. www.businessinsider.com/amazon-220-b...

Repost if $30k would change your life right now

Matt Darling@besttrousers.bsky.social

I don't think $30k is a life-changing amount of money. Median American born in 1980 will have $2m in income in their lifetime. It's a 1% increase in earnings.

I can appreciate when he does proper journalism on the gaming industry but the juxtaposition between that and puff piece advertising for gta6 is wild lmao
