We all have a right to be angry at GOP voters -- that almost goes without saying. But I still maintain a special reserve of vitriol for people who can't be bothered to vote at all. They, by themselves, could have prevented this. They, by themselves, can stop this whenever they want to.

I shake my head and wonder why, 89mil registered voters, 3x my entire country's population, were so apathetic, that they couldn't be bothered. And here you, albeit, the rest of the world, now are😢. It has me completely stuffed!

Had a mom on the soccer team exclaim, “they are a loud and proud nonvoter”. Next time I saw them was at our new public library with her kids. The irony was palpable. She did not see it. Her husband is a pastor for a “skateboard” church. I’m an unapologetic atheist. This is not going to end well.

47 was elected by a vast MINORITY because of the non-voting citizens. Therefore, we are all being manipulated by a small fraction of the collective. I for one am furious and rail constantly about non voting. It is the only price to pay for citizenship imho. 😥🤬😢🤬

I'm having trouble with the part where working people bear all the responsibility for this mess while the political experts with Olympic swimming pools full of money had no duty to run a campaign that inspired the most voters, let alone jail anyone who organized J6. Legitimacy crisis is on leaders.

I hear you. As Plato said thousands of years ago “apathy towards politics guarantees you will be ruled by evil men”. HOWEVER, the Democratic Party has not given people much to vote FOR since Bill Clinton and his Third Way transformed the party into a corporate “partner”.

Many have bought into the media lie of both sides are the same. They are intentionally low information & so do not bother. How hard is it to find out who the nazis are voting for and vote the opposite. I also know too many liberals that will not vote for anyone who as not been perfect since birth.

What you said would be true if there were no electoral college and if all votes have equal standing regardless of which state/county/district they are cast in. The current setup is not that way and that's one of the reasons that a lot of people don't vote. Why vote when that vote won't matter?

What you said would be somewhat true if we only voted for president. Our primary votes shape the parties. All the “Democrats suck” points are failures of the voters during the primaries. Then, voting for Congress in the general. An effective Congress would have removed Trump.

Votes always matter. Even blue votes on blue states: they feed mandates - or stop them. Sure, we can change the electoral college. We need to motivate people to vote. Stop helping MAGA.

More concerned about this in the upcoming elections. Trump's disapproval ratings are no guarantee those unhappy Indys or Repubs will actually vote for a dem. I can see them saying " f*** it, I'm out" and MAGA is (once again) overrepresented.

I agree. We must continue to convince non-voters to stop being complacent about their rights to US Freedom & Justice for All. Keep peacefully protesting & resisting Felon47 & his cult, but realize that your vote is your strongest power. Please vote in all local & Federal elections & 🌊🇺🇸💙VOTE BLUE!💙🇺🇸🌊

My special contempt is for the leadership of the Democratic party. They cost us two of the last three national elections. They think opposing super majorities of blue voters on big issues is the way to win elections because that's what their biggest donors want them to do.

Voting in national elections is the trolley problem. We vote to do the least amount of damage. Or we vote to save the one we love - fuck everyone else. Or we do nothing and watch the carnage as if we could not have pulled the switch. Non-voters, you could have pulled the switch.

Once again, we should also be particularly upset with the Bernie or Busters, and with Bernie himself who lied his followers into believing "it wuz rigged" just as Trump picked up that same line and polished it a few short years later

I've had many argue to me that not voting was their choice. They didn't like the candidates, they didn't feel they had a choice in choosing them, they couldn't get behind them, they hate being forced into a two party system...it was a choice for some. Others said they lacked ID or don't do politics

If you don’t like any candidate, write your own name in or Donald Duck or Jesus! You can still have your voice counted and not go to any candidate. This would be more productive than not voting.

elections are decided by money, not voters, but who could pass up an opportunity to blame your working class peers for the crimes of the aristocracy?

90 MILLION eligible voters didn’t care. Thats infuriating! Cult brain MAGA are unreachable. In a perfect world I would make voting mandatory, Election Day a holiday, end gerrymandering & end the electoral college. The EC has added to voter apathy. People understand their vote doesn’t really count

I hope your vitriol turns into s/t productive like understanding why people don’t vote (restrictive burdens) & then maybe you can concentrate effort on turning out voters instead of rage posting on bluesky? Maybe we need states to do away w/ID req? Give electionday off? Publicly financed campaigns?

But they "just don't like politics", "all politicians are crooks/bad", "dont care who's in charge", "wanna avoid all the uproar", "it doesn't effect them", "don't like the hate politics causes", "it's not important to them" and "always get crap for who they vote for" (Actual responses irl 🤢😒😵‍💫)

Exactly. The “ I can’t vote for Trump but I can’t vote for a Democrat” spinelessness is why we’re a global laughing stock and why we’re in the mess we’re in.

Democrats and Republicans are owned by corporations... the same corporations that brought us wage slavery, imperialism, and now fascism. Maybe the wage slaves shouldn't be voting for their chains. Maybe they shouldn't be voting at all until there's someone who will actually represent them.

Understood. As well as the mass media who normalized this (& continue to do so); the uber rich who continue to act in their own self interests w/out regard for the rest of us or our country; & the GOP/Congress who laid out the red carpet for "him" to do whatever he wants, etc. (Plus, he cheated)

💙💙💙 good morning Vicki happy Wednesday I agree with everything you just said, but the matter at hand is the fact that he’s still the president of the United States, and we must find a way to deal with it and not allow him to ruin our country and the rest of the world

Yeah, I agree with everything you said too. I was just adding to the list for my own clarification/edification. The list goes on & on. What you said is very true. We have to deal w/ our "reality" as it stands in the here & now... (There's more to say, but that's enuf for now.) 💙💙💙🌊🙏🎯👍💖

Might've helped if the democratic admin had done a single fucking thing about it in the 4 years they had. Or Biden renegging on his promise of one term long enough to wipe out any chance for a real primary then literally installing someone no one outside DNC consultants wanted

They knew that their lazy lack of action would lead to a Trump presidency with all that would deliver to the world. They are complicit and should stand in front of a mirror and take a long, hard look at themselves.

I blame those that didn’t vote. Any fool can run for office …. And those that vote decide who will have the power. For those that refused to vote… did you really believe Harris was going to be worse than what we have now? I hope you never skip another election in your life..if we even have one.

Yes well my mother didn’t really like much about Trump but she voted for him anyway because she couldn’t vote for the Black lady. I’d much rather she stayed home and sat one out.

No, if those who did not vote in 2024 had voted, Trump's % share of the vote would have increased. And you have to win over those people if you want to have a hope in hell of preserving your republic. It is a battle for hearts and minds. www.npr.org/2025/06/26/n...

npr.orgTrump still would have won in 2024 even if everyone had turned out to vote, Pew findsIn 2024, 64% of the eligible-voting population turned out, the second highest in 120 years. New data show that even if all those voters who stayed home had voted, Trump would still be president today.

I continue to be amazed at those who either voted Republican just because that's what they always do, as well as those who couldn't be bothered to vote. They handed this Country to Criminals and Conspiracy thinkers. Now we are going to have to physically fight to get it back.

This is a fake/bot account!! GD IT! WTF BSKY?! I left twitter to avoid the propaganda manipulation bots and here we have proof of nefarious people trying to manipulate the narrative!!! This is absolute 🐂💩 bsky.app/profile/jame...

And don’t give me “give them something to vote for shit”. There was plenty to vote for. Particularly when we were also telling you what the alternative is. At this point I think the best way to save democracy is to focus on the middle. The far left is blue MAGA.

I agree. This is on all of the people who didn’t come out to vote. Did they think Trump 2.0 was going to be better? They listened to his lies and swallowed them hook, line and sinker. Maybe they will want to buy a bridge I have for sale.

The ones I can't stand voted 3rd party to punish the country for not living up to their standard. We would live in a far better world today if no one had voted for Nader in 2000 and Stein in 2016/2024. Instead, because democrats weren't perfect, they chose to inflict fascism as our punishment.

I have been saying this very same thing to my family and friends many of them do NOT vote because they say that they live in a blue state and so their vote does not matter, because It is all in the electoral votes!

We should all be upset, but we should punch up, not laterally. We're all under threat from the same source. IDC who voted for who or who holds what office as much as who's fighting to change it. Cory Booker isn't. Chuck Schumer has invented an imaginary couple in his head to justify his choices

Some Dems should change their registration addresses. If they change our districts; we change our addresses. My kids could change their address from my house to my mom's house (which is in a different district) & vote from there. They're there often. That'd be 4 more Dem votes in that district.

You are right. Everyone forgets that Trump won by a mere 2.4 million votes. That's the population of Houston. Less than the population of Mississippi. Around 90 million American adults couldn't be bothered, as if the outcome would in some way not affect them. But please stay hopeful!

Let face it 77 m americans voted for this evil nazi. knowing he was immoral . But maga primarily descendenta of slaves or KKK -dregs of earth here in America. Be great to carve up US into union with blue states only. F em. slimy people in red states.

The election was rigged by Musk to keep Traitor Trump out of PRISON where he belongs !! Do the math. Do you really think 11 million Democrats stayed home and didn’t go vote?

Calling Congressional Republicans and supportive business leaders cowardly or weak is generous. Assumes they're moral and patriotic, and therefore don't like all this, but are just too scared to do anything about it. Their actions, however, indicate that they're into it. Or at least don't mind.

Sad thing is we are still not reaching them. They can afford the increased groceries, vacation with their families and live for their child’s next big game. They do not watch any news and do not discuss politics disliking both parties. They are our family and friends and won’t be reading this.

How about giving them someone to vote for. Don’t get stuck on this echo chamber. Be willing and open to why they didn’t vote and address that. You may be surprised.

I’ve been a lifelong Democrat and politically very active. It’s not an echo chamber, it’s a reality and we need to face it. I don’t have the answers but I wish I did. I do know countering “our team” isn’t one of them.

I too have been a life long Dem and have voted in every election. I work the polls and participate in protests. I still held my nose voting last election because genocide is an issue to many are willing to ignore. A large majority of non voters couldn’t ignore it. We absolutely have become an echo

I used to think that too. But I've spoke with enough people who think Trump's suspending the constitution is on par with Obama wearing short sleeves. A percentage of us just don't care what happens.

Close to 90 million people didnt vote. A number that is larger than what Trump or the former VP received. That is not counting people who have been disenfranchised by felonies. It's pretty disgusting that so many people could not be bothered to help save this country.

I feel like this lets politicians and their campaigns off the hook though. If I ran for city council and lost, and then started talking about how the voters screwed up, especially non-voters, you'd easily identify it as loser behavior. Presidential campaigns should be held to the same standard.

Drumph wouldn't have had a first term without the electoral college. Bush 2 wouldn't have had a first term either for the same reason. Besides, while non-voters are a problem they're not the only one when billionaires can game the whole system with money and their control on corporate media.

George Carlin was right about people voting in rich cocksuckers who don't give a shit about you. America abandoned anything like a progressive left when the House UnAmerican Activities Committee was created in 1938. You might snag some of those apathetic voters with a real left wing.

WRONG! Non-Voter can not sway a presidential election. They don't all live in a swing state and most live in a state already going red or blue without their vote. They just add to the red or blueness of the state.

No. Direct 100% of your anger at the GOP and the democratic party that deliberately lost the election because they WANTED to hand power to the GOP. Those people are the problem end of fucking story.

We can understand the various reasons why they don't vote, but that doesn't mean we have to like it. I'm empathic to many of the reasons as I once used them, but since becoming an atheist I see the world differently, I am more connected to my fellow human beings so I vote. I don't know how to

get through to people who don't vote, but it's something that those of us who do need to put our collective heads together and figure out. Surely there are ways to meet the non-voters where they are and help them see that they're only harming themselves by being disconnected from democracy.

I don’t believe a lot of people who didn’t vote would have voted to Kamala if they did show up. Who doesn’t vote? The uniformed; the people not paying attention to what’s happening; people who don’t care enough to vote; etc. In other words, a lot of people who fall for Trumps promises and lies.

etc.inetc.in

My Gen Z son couldn't have cared LESS about voting because he says nothing that was discussed affected him personally, so, why bother? Then I screamed into his smug fucking face that he's NOT the only fucking person in the world, as much as he'd like to think so. I was pissed.

I’m related to one and they didn’t even know about what happened to Renee Good or what ICE is doing in Minneapolis. We need someone to get the videos and messages to them on their social media if they don’t have the algorithm and don’t watch a lick of news. So frustratingz

I hear you . . . but I am reserving my vitriol for the members of Congress on BOTH sides who have foresworn their oath of office and who, after all, are being paid to do a job they are clearly NOT doing.

Democrats would rather try to win over moderate Republicans than ever consider shifting to the left and become more progressive. Democrats don't represent progressives. They just use scare tactics to force progressives to vote for them. It's difficult to get people excited to vote for #BLUEMAGA

Like I said last time you posted this a few hours ago, vitriol for the voters when the DNC is hiding their report on the '24 election is insane. Non-voters are the largest voting bloc because the Dems have a credibility problem. Which is exacerbated by nonsense like this.

I'm a proud GOP voter who would happily vote GOP again. Democrat vitriol is often ill founded and based upon pure emotion and not reason. The cries of "fascism" rarely even appeal to the fourteen articulated criteria for fascism and instead are "He does things I don't like; ergo, fascism."
