It's sad for all Americans that we have to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our great nation with the most corrupt, evil president in our history.

A bright spot: more Americans will learn about Minute Men and the real reason we have 2nd amendment. “In order to form a well-armed militia…” which they did to defeat a tyrannical king.

I will wait until he is out of the White House, or shuffles off the mortal coil, dealer's choice. There is nothing to celebrate right now.

Just in time for the celebration - they'll release those giant trump coins into circulation. trump's signature will be on our paper currency. We'll have the UFC fights on the White House Lawn... Sheesh. What else is this clown gonna get to kiss his ass?

I think about that constantly... Perhaps we can celebrate the 250th anniversary of the end of the siege of Yorktown in October of 2031, or the signing of the Paris Treaty in September of 2033... Surely we will have purged this evil by then...🙏

I remember being a little kid in 1976 & being so proud & excited - collecting bicentennial coins, the freedom train, the 4th of July fireworks (my mom ran a fireworks stand...so it was epic), Disney's America on Parade...it was a great time. I'm sad for everyone, but especially for kids...

I was in new York for the 200th anniversary in 76. I was only 9 but remember the fanfare and feeling of pride for the usa. As an Australian I am sorry your 250th will suck but you elected this. The big question is will you make 275 as a democracy? Good luck. The world is watching.

I've been wondering if we'll end up thanking Trump for saving us all from America. For forcing the world to realise how undemocratic & unjust US has been for a long time; the hegemony that caused war after war; they haven't subscribed to international law; never been a beacon of freedom for all.

Apparently King Charles III is coming along with an offer to let bygones be bygones on the basis you pay the tea taxes that are still owing. A constitutional monarch is a lot cheaper than financing "ole bone spurs" golf habit. Ask Canada and Australia. 😀

I just turned 12 when the nation celebrated the bicentennial. I lived in the Berkshires and I’ll never forget the sound of all the church bells ringing at noon that July 4th. I can only weep now. 🇺🇸

Many Americans are deeply disgusted with the idea that this perverted cockroach received 77 million votes. There is no birthday, no celebration, no country left to take pride in. I know it happened very fast, but denial won't help. It is over, with no foreseeable fix or reparation ànywhere in sight

I won’t be celebrating, there’s nothing to celebrate. We didn’t make as a democratic republic. If by chance the current regime is ousted by 7/4 then we can have a double celebration. I’m all for that!

Amerikkka is and always will be a nation of tyranny, oppression and hate. The country started that way cycling through different times of apartheid and genocide locally and internationally. Trump is the epitome of America, the best representation for the 250 anniversary.

Will be celebrating the 250th. It's a big deal. It'll be family fun day. The usual parades fireworks, and nothing to do with Trump. He's not going to take that away from us. Hoping when they rededicate under God, God decides to shoot a lightning bolt right in the middle of it.

Conservatism Today=$39T in debt, no rule of law, no chks & bal, billionaire-bought MSM/Govt dividing us, protect pdfs, ICE killing/deporting Americans, soldiers killed, bankrupt farms, voter suppression, gas/inflation soaring, most of the world hates us, & grand grifting in all branches of govt.

Well, you don't Have to, right? That could be fixed and have the added benefit of making it the biggest and best celebration, with all but a couple of countries joining in...

If you research the real history of the USA, not the one created by American propaganda and Hollywood, it is not such a great nation. Genocide against native Americans, regular betrayal of allies, looting of allies, non-repayment of debts to allies, cooperation/business with the enemy (nazis), etc.

I’ve been thinking about that lately. 250 years ago the Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence to free themselves from tyranny. 250 years later, millions of us are marching to do the same. 🧵

The British surrendered at Yorktown on Oct. 19, 1781. The Treaty of Paris was signed on Sept. 3, 1783, officially ending the Revolutionary War. The US Constitution was ratified on June 21, 1788. Signing the Declaration isn’t what made the US a country. July 4 was only the beginning.

The corruption-power feedback loop is fascinating from a historical lens — I've been diving into how societies rationalize moral compromises during pivotal anniversaries. Rome's 1000th year was... turbulent too.
