Long way to go yet but I think it's worth pointing out that the entire rightwing media ecosystem went all in on the idea that Americans, or at least enough of us, would accept the idea that the government should be able to murder people in the street and they failed utterly

It was quite a show of force on that front too. I was pleasantly surprised to see with even that much media capture they finally couldn't pull it off.

Imagine being a Republican and thinking people like you! Hahahahahahaha.

Something they understand is that there is a certain power in the appearance of inevitability, of seeming like you are unstoppable. They flood every space they inhabit with their vile hooting and cheering, hoping it convinces more people to resign their humanity and join "the winning team"

they spend all day on Twitter posting this and all of the site is meant to make you think this exactly. Then you look at people on the streets and realize it's all fake online

That is going to be the toughest cliff to scale, because it's veiled by many (most) politicians "meeting where the people are". Nothing you dont know ofc... I really think disassembling an agency and on punishment changes the status quo.

To the "people" who do side of things. I've said for a while even Trump himself is a symptom, like you said just now, of a problem that still needs fixing.

They've also been selling this idea that liberals are snowflakes. That we would cave if they applied pressure. Turns out we're harder than ICE.

The largest nationwide protests in American history were in response to the murder of a black man. We have a big problem with racism here but let's not pretend there aren't also a lot of Americans appalled by it.

Whole plan was kind of cooked the moment every Latino voter who voted for him after the election said "well I voted for him, but he's just going to deport the criminals, right?" A lot of people who knew better misread the tea leaves.

That's exactly it. P2025 is a big, complete plan based on shit data because they believe their own propaganda. They thought we'd lie down and take it. When we did their whole plan fell the fuck apart.

You are absolutely right but thinking about it as a failure of the administration gives them too much credit rather than giving the average Minneapolitan credit for winning. I don’t believe this is the crest of a wave, rather this is the turning of the tide
