We’ve put a lot of work into making Bluesky a healthier social network. This app is designed to give you a choice — in what you want to see, what you don’t want to see, and how you want to interact. Some tips on how to customize your experience:

Choose what you see: • “Following” and “Discover” are default feeds, but there are 50k+ feeds built by the community to explore! bsky.app/feeds • Discover shows you posts we think you’ll like. You can teach it your interests by clicking “Show more” or “Show less” in the three-dot menu.

Choose what you don’t see: • Bluesky T&S provides a strong foundation of moderation, and our stackable approach lets you layer on additional filters. • Go to Settings > Moderation to mute words & tags, subscribe to community-built moderation lists, and tune your content filter preferences.

Choose how you interact: • When you block someone, you disappear from each other’s view. This “out of sight, out of mind” approach is designed to give you peace of mind. • Before or after posting, you can detach quote-posts or change your reply settings to control what conversations you're in.

Our goal is to help you make friends and build healthy communities by giving you all the tools you need. So try out these customization features and let us know what you think! 🦋

The reason I stay on Twitter is the Group Chats. A large group of ppl can have private group discussions for members. My favs are my Kdrama and Cdrama GCs. Please add this option!

You need to transform Bluesky into a direct democracy platform, where we can vote on candidates and policy. If we click on a post, we should see all the relevant polls in the right column. People who want to vote will have to register with facial recognition, so there can be no cheating.

One account, multiple IDs. On Twitter I had multiple IDs. I still want that, but all in the same verified account that I use to vote anonymously with. Different accounts for different topics. Not everyone likes my posts about Big Brother. But I still want to be able to vote with every account.

Apologies for the slightly intemperate tone, Jay but is there any chance you can address this? 🙏 bsky.app/profile/paul...

One thing Bluesky has GOT to sort out is refreshing while you're in the middle of composing a post, wiping out all of your text, because you had the temerity to temporarily switch to another app. This is, to put it mildly, infuriating. 🤬 Has anyone else experienced this?

Jay! If your team is ever in need of someone working on advertising and partnerships in the US, I’d like to formally and unabashedly volunteer to help. The world needs spaces like @bsky.app and I’m here with a hammer, some glue and over a decade of experience to help build this federated republic.

The customization features, particularly "out of sight, out of mind" are terrific, I'm telling everyone about it and find myself using the phrase "gale-force breath of fresh air" repeatedly.

As a genuine answer: usually to indicate the tone of voice. Use of punctuation online has diverged from how it's commonly used, and it instead helps convey tone more often than just meaning. A question mark can imply a raised voice, but a question can still be said in a flat, perhaps sarcastic tone.

Hello Jay. I’m enjoying Bluesky. Just one problem: I campaign to support the BBC. When I put a # in front of BBC+people click that, it directs them straight to porn. Is there anything you can do please, to stop this happening? I’d be very grateful for your help. Thank you.
