We’ve put a lot of work into making Bluesky a healthier social network. This app is designed to give you a choice — in what you want to see, what you don’t want to see, and how you want to interact. Some tips on how to customize your experience:

Choose what you see: • “Following” and “Discover” are default feeds, but there are 50k+ feeds built by the community to explore! bsky.app/feeds • Discover shows you posts we think you’ll like. You can teach it your interests by clicking “Show more” or “Show less” in the three-dot menu.

Choose what you don’t see: • Bluesky T&S provides a strong foundation of moderation, and our stackable approach lets you layer on additional filters. • Go to Settings > Moderation to mute words & tags, subscribe to community-built moderation lists, and tune your content filter preferences.

Choose how you interact: • When you block someone, you disappear from each other’s view. This “out of sight, out of mind” approach is designed to give you peace of mind. • Before or after posting, you can detach quote-posts or change your reply settings to control what conversations you're in.

What's gonna happen when, let's say, politicians start to open accounts here, and we reply or quote their posts to debunk their lies and they use these tools, they detach our quotes and block us to silence us and avoid accountability? What's the plan for when that start to happen?

Is there a way to unblock an account that moderation blocked? Or find out why it's blocked? A friend's account was blocked, for no reason we can figure out, and turning off all filters wouldn't let me see their account.

Will there be any plans on adding the ability to remove followers without having to block them? Personally, I prefer my block lists to be empty but if I end up getting followed by users who say "please don't interact with (dislike)", i'd rather have one less follower than a name on a block list

Our goal is to help you make friends and build healthy communities by giving you all the tools you need. So try out these customization features and let us know what you think! 🦋

What's the etiquette of "liking" a post? If the post is telling us something awful - like Matt Gaetz is going to be the new AG - do we click on the heart button coz we appreciate the reporting or do we not click on it coz we hate that awful news?!?!!

Please explain how you decide what you think I'll like. I would be interested in seeing what the people I follow are most liking but other apps have seemed to show me random accounts they want to promote... Many, I'm sure, ignore the discover feed for this reason.
