I think WWE is at a crossroads for, like, several reasons but with this money stuff they either hear the crowds and pull back on prices and ads or they charge ahead and probably lose a lot of fans in the process. Either way I think the ownership change is going to eventually destroy the company.

Historic high ticket prices and now they’re inserting ads into the middle of entrances, even in the arena. Live crowd is starting to boo when these happen.

I think live shows will have smaller audiences but they got so much money for Netflix I'm not sure TKO cares. I think casuals who tune in for RR and WM are pissed but the weekly watchers are still fully bought in.

That’s sorta what I’m getting at. TKO doesn’t have to care about the fundamentals of growing/maintaining that business. They made the deals already and they’ll be focused on the bottom line. They won’t have the patience for long-term efforts to build… anything.

As we know, WWE could spend time and energy to build a fan base that grows and grows and STILL get sold for parts. So... why bother? WWE was doomed the minute it was sold. It just depends on how long it takes.

Can't wait until triple h books an angle where jelly roll takes an ice pick to his eye, causing him to get fired, then Jim Herd gets brought in to run things. Who's the 2026 version of jim herd? Reggie Fils Aime? He worked for pizza hut

I miss the 6 month period after Vince where things were looking great. They broke free, with a stellar roster and the ability to finally tell proper stories. I was rooting for them. Glad AEW caught fire again. At least there's somewhere else to go as WWE changes into whatever they're trying to be.

Recently went to a local wrestling league. Most fun Ive had in 1billion years. For $25 I got hours of unbelievably charismatic and athletic wrestling, selfies with the wrestlers, good beers, bring your own food, walk around and sit wherever. Now I'm a regular. WWE? Haven't watched since like 2008.

Maybe a sport going national isn't better. It's making me wonder if football, baseball, and basketball would actually be more fun and compelling as a bunch of smaller regional leagues.

At a certain point, TKO will discover that "wrestling" is its least profitable aspect of WWE. Matches will become 'Dress to Impress', where the crowd will vote on, thus driving engagement. Of course, everything will be sponsored.

Any major number fans who are actually going to stop watching already did 5-6 years ago. These people are going to keep paying thousands of dollars to watch ads and convince themselves they like it that way.

WWE has always been the cockroach that survives anything and they tend to do better with their back against the wall but this time feels different. The whole thing could collapse tomorrow and I'd be like yeah that tracks.

Because this time it’s owned by pure corporate people who have done nothing to build or grow the actual core of the product. They bought it fully formed, expanded the advertising end of the business to a ridiculous degree and will sell it out as soon as they think they can make more profit that way.

This isn't even tribal, this has nothing to do with AEW, CMLL, NJPW, it's just pointing out in a complete vacuum and mentioning when folks are being served shit and told it's filet. When PIF pulls funds like they are about to with LIV Golf, look the fuck out. Then they'll have a deficit to fix!

They're selling Al-Hilal too. Their new five-year plan looks like it's set to cut loose any of their sports properties that aren't running actual profits. So as soon as that's not WWE...

I wish I could say the same. I haven't and won't pay to watch their product, I'll barely even watch it for free, but I have a weakness for wrestling games so I end up buying one of the shitty 2K games every few years.

Its completely enshittified now. Less than 90min of matches in a 4hr show yesterday. Ads for their Hogan documentary were longer than basically any of the matches. The joke of Night 1 for WM is probably the last straw for a lot of people, including me
