We're so fucking bad at comprehending the Overton window. Just for once I'd like to *start* negotiating from, like, not a surrender

they are a decorative opposition party, correct the pressure to rebuild it needs to be relentless

MORE THIS

Yup, and their own Leonard Leo, quietly funding the choices.

Congress should repurpose the SCOTUS building as a woman’s health clinic run by planned parenthood and the Supreme Court has to meet and deliberate in public at a public hospital ER waiting room.

Ugh. Nauseatingly mixed.

The Supreme Court should be made up of all ex-Presidents still living...

Man. That would get so many AR-15s fingered.

I think @masnick.com is spot on with the push for 100:

Yes well, establishment Dems are too beholden to their donors to say anything. Vote them ALL out.

T&F The Six.

Where they so useless

I worked for Greenpeace in a past life and used to joke that Sea Shepherd was one of the biggest reasons Greenpeace accomplished anything on the issues where we overlapped.

I agree we should expand the court but why aren’t republicans expanding the court right now to ensure Dems never get back in power?

This, this, this. Dems love to walk 10 paces toward their opponent before negotiations begin. They can’t get enough of that shit.

Yep… 💯

That’s the spirit! Naked Richard got the most coverage on Survivor, just a note.

Instead they're out undermining the further left edges of the party and telling voters they're somehow mistaken in their desire for a more gutsy and honest party

Yep, we need to play the "move the overton window" game like they do!

THIS

The recent primaries will slowly replace those that talk but do nothing. Dem leadership, corporate PACs, and their consultants can either adapt or they will be voted out.

Centrist Dem leaders see that as gauche.

This. 1000% this. The Overton window needs to be broken open, and then reset.

Too many Dem pols know too much about history and the contemporary reaction to FDR's court expansion scheme -- even though the political culture has changed completely since then. Unfortunately, the NYT and the other house organs of brunchlord centrism are always there to remind them.

Exactly. Overton Window manipulation.

The reason they like to say "everything is on the table" is because it keeps them from having to specify any single thing on said table. We need to pin them down to some specifics.

13 circuit courts = 13 Supreme Court justices simple logic
