I enjoyed the layered coverage of musk's fake flying car some outlets just flatly propped up the lie others tried to hide their ethical lapses by putting "flying car" in quotes others tried to do flimsy deep engineering dives to downplay their lazy pursuit of newscycle engagement great stuff!

If their revenue is per-click ad revenue, a lot of the media seem to be out to maximize engagements above everything else. That's a death spiral. The endpoint is news slop served by AI-powered bots.

No one's pointing out that Musk, again, didn't deliver on time, this time for a adult sized Matchbox playset that was supposed to come out at the premier of the Matchbox movie almost two weeks ago How can a guy who can't even show up to a playdate on time response for so much natsec infrastructure?

Excellent article. I only want to make two clarifications. Elon claimed that you will be able to refill the gas tanks as the car is moving, which holds with the gas-air line. However, his chief engineer confirmed that those tanks actually contained nitrogen at 10000 psi. How in the name of Zeus 1/

Will you refill nitrogen tanks to 10000 psi on the move or even in your backyard. And when did pumping stock become legal and something that business journalists applaud. Isn't that how we ended up with whatshername, oh yes, Elizabeth Anne Holmes. OK I feel better now.

Sad how many people are rushing to say it will never get approved for flight, and overlooking the entirely minor point (which you have highlighted) that IT'S NOT A REAL CAR. Along with all the other BS about 0-60, speed and range. Run it up Goodwood hill climb and see if it beats the Spéirling.

yeah I enjoyed that. I kept seeing people put their cart in front of the horse with comments like that or "gosh it will hurt people" ignoring that it's NOT REAL

Best thing I saw all week was some dude enthusiastically going off to his female companion with '...and now he has invented a flying car!' and the girl just 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 him.

Everything you wrote here I have been screeching to anyone who will listen. I am infuriated by the media repeating his insane lies and watching the resulting genius halo get falsely affixed to this criminally insane person of the highest order.

I want to believe just because the lawsuits over people getting paralyzed in hard landings would be amazing. It’s also why I can’t believe… Well that and… Not entirely stupid.

Thrilled to finally read something which reflects my own antipathy for this sniveling racist murderer. Generally all we see in the corporate media is lickspittle hagiography and boot polishing. Thanks for making me feel for even one moment that I’m not taking crazy pills.

Oddly, I've had an electric flying vehicle for several years. DJI make them. There are numerous practical examples of electric powered flying passenger aircraft. The roadster isn't one. Using thrusters is spectacularly inefficient and has no means of refuelling. Another gimic by underachiever Musk.

You guys don't see it, don't you?! You wouldn't recognize genius if Einstein slapped you in the face. Just wait until Elon combines his greatest inventions into the flyinghypertunnel. You'll all be put to shame!

Motor Trend has really embarrassed themselves with their Tesla coverage. They fell for the flying car hook, line, and sinker, plus they gave the latest "FSD" their tech of the year award because it didn't crash during their short time with it. No mention of all the deaths

This stunt and the subsequent reporting was literally the perfect example of "CEO said a thing!" but I couldn't remember which of the people I follow came up with that concept so I just let it slide since I couldn't attrib anyone.

I didn’t read every article on the stunt, but of the ones I did read, I didn’t see any mention that Chinese companies have already built flying cars that actually work. I can understand why they might have missed this. It is understandably difficult to google “China flying cars” and, like, read.

But it’s understandable that people would assume Tesla is a real innovator ,given its pioneering electric cars, which is a technology that dates back only to…1830.

I thought it was an AI video at first! It came a day after Starlink throttled Ukrainian drones' speed, so I couldn't care less about Elno's latest stunt. It turned out to be another fake stunt (just like the remote-controlled robots)🤮 It seems like the media wants to be fooled a third time😭
