I remember when Musk bought Twitter for agitprop purposes how even people on here insisted I was "overthinking it" and "it's not like he's playing 4D chess" as if billionaires hijacking media for propaganda takes any brains and hasn't been happening for centuries

another one I heard a lot (and just did again) is that musk couldn't possibly have wanted to leverage twitter for agitprop purposes because he at one point he belatedly realized he was wildly overpaying for it which still makes no sense to me

He only hesitated about overpaying because he didn’t have the money… Then he got the money from a bunch of Saudi & Russian oligarchs. The world’s oligarchs are in cahoots. Buying all US media is completely worth their money so they can completely control the narrative & get away with everything.

He didn't EARN that money, so why would he care if he lost it? Why don't people understand this about Elon? His net worth is based entirely on, propped up by, and expanded further, via lies he tells about phantom products. He can always lie more. He can't always sell more cars or whatever.

I don't disagree, but didn't he try to get out of the Twitter deal? It seemed more like rich bro posturing turning into a forced transaction, which he then realized was a great propaganda machine.

people also say this to me often, but him belatedly realizing he was wildly overpaying has no bearing on his intention (before and after) to leverage twitter as a right wing agitprop machine

Theres a decent argument wetlands are culturally "evil" because prehistoric kings hated trying to administer them, so they both commissioned propaganda and rewarded slander. Swamps in MTG give death mana because King Gilgamusk knows every turtle hunt is time away from growing sweet taxable grain.

I’m really worried about how we can disconnect wealth from political power and I don’t think there is a good solution other than tax the snot out of them. How far are we really from your vote being weighted according to your net worth (in money)

%80-%90 tax rate on yearly income over, say $5 million would result in all of the super rich doing everything they can to not pay those taxes. Instead of taking profit from all of their companies and paying that tax, they invest in their companies since increasing company value isn't taxable.

So what previously came out as profits gets put back into the companies as better equipment, training, raises and bonuses. Plus, if Elon wants to give $200 mil to politicians, he'll have to pay $800-900 million in taxes.

What the serious Fck?!?!? Elon Musk just dropped a cool $1B into Skydance. Mutha Effer SPECTRE is now complete as the biggest welfare queen fascist in history. Who’s going to stop this insanity? You’re looking at him! Who am I? The producer with the $71 Trillion Truth!!!! youtu.be/lJ5LYlFa-UM?...

On the positive side, they're adding a lot of contagion to the market with the over-leveraging and trust integrations. When one of the dominoes falls, they're all going to be wiped out.

I would say otherwise, I would say that this is part of circling the wagons. just like these idiotic ideas about giving people shares, is just trying to get people to be invested in the success of their regulatory and governmental capture.

Play money, not fully legally his (pending details) investment should not become real.Kiting funds from taxpayers, leases, government contracts "explode', financial collapse could easily happen /all this on paper make believe "assets" value, tangled partnership cos-play. Mixed a bit, jist is correct

Well, he wants to make sure none of the big stations like HBO or SHO show the Musk movie, he'll pay whatever he needs to pay, he's already stopped it being shown on social media sites.

He's just propping up his good buddy *don't look at the suppression of Musk documentary he's terrified of or any other programming he doesn't like*
