Same in UK as we avoid filling in the difficult gaps. We're starting to get a coherent network in London but there have been tough decisions on road space e.g. cycle vs bus
and that's being generous. Sacramento County's Climate Action Plan calls for 190 miles (304 km) of additional bike paths/(protected?) lanes, which might sound like a lot, but there are 5200 miles (8320 km) of road here.
Accurate.
In the suburb I live in, all new construction is required to build bike friendly sidewalk infrastructure.
So we have chunks of bike lanes that just randomly start and stop at the edges of each property.
In between is whatever has been there for the last 50 years.
WRONG, DOES NOT REFLECT REALITY.
If this is so accurate, why isn’t there a car and/or delivery truck parked every 50 feet or so smack in the center of the bike lane?
This hits hard. My 2 & 8 year old built this last night. So we are saying North American bike infra could be better built by kids 🤔.
I don't think that's wrong, it just hurts.
