I have two. Mystery Lovers Bookshop in PA and Tall Tales in GA. Both are great places and super helpful. I remember a time in Tall Tales where - for whatever reason- the movie Shane came up and the owner and I started yelling "SHAANE!" to each other across the store to everyone else's confusion.

This is like making me choose my favorite child! If I HAD to pick, I’d pick Golden Bee in Liverpool, NY. Lovely, cozy, and the first time I really saw what an indie bookstore could do.

My favorite indie bookstore is the one I’m currently working on opening! Strange Books & Mysterious Tomes is a horror bookstore in NorCal, webstore opening soon, brick and mortar in a year or so.

The wee bookshop in Dollar, Clackmannanshire, central Scotland. It's one of the 2 bookshops in our entire county. The other is a second hand bookshop. Neither have been open for more than 5 years, until then we were bookshopless

I’m big on Pilsen Community Books and Unabridged books in Chicago! And we just had a new one (Dingbats) open up directly across from where we live!!

Donner in Rotterdam! I'm not able to go visit very often, but they're my go-to for ordering and do free shipping within the Netherlands from 15 euros, which is most books! :) They're usually very reasonably priced for English language books, especially.

Book Vault in Oskaloosa, IA, is the store I support with Libro and Bookshop. A favorite great aunt lived in the town and any trip to see her involved a trip to the store. She passed about 10 years ago and I don’t know if I’ll ever get back to her town, but I love knowing that bookstore exists

Fable Hollow Bookstore and Coffee Shoppe in Knoxville, TN. I am also a fan of The Hive in Bearden, and Good Girl Books also in Knoxville general area! I am so happy my Scruffy Little City has so many indie stores to choose from.

I've been supporting The Beautiful Idea in Charlottesville with my subscription! A local LGBTQ+ friendly bookstore that also partners with local artists to sell their prints, shirts, and jewelry, and they keep a free fridge at the front of the store that my partner and I have donated to before!

Details: One entry per person. This giveaway is open internationally, 18+ and closes 8/20/26 at 8:00 AM PT. The giveaway is not affiliated with Bluesky. The winner will be contacted over DM directly.

Mermaid books in Milford,CT is my local, they do tons of book-themed crafting classes and are big supporters of LGBTQIA causes and immigrants rights. I love having them as my preferred store on bookshop.

Constant Reader Crows Nest Sydney. Why? They have a dedicated section for kids and their friendly staff allow kids to touch, feel and pick out books. Always a pleasant experience in the store even if you’re not buying anything. A true community asset.
