I am 16% of the way through Astarion and I can already assure you it is a perfectly fine book. Certainly not my favorite Kingfisher book, and I still find Astarion to be the least interesting companion character... But perfectly good and acceptable read.

God, if only there were a way to solve this memory issue by assuring that game content is stored externally instead of housed on the console itself. Perhaps in the form of a disc or cartridge? It's a shame that isn't possible.
