Under Executive Law 24 the mayor has extensive emergency powers. There were some street scuffles when the games ended late. So I say he declares "local security emergency" and does whatever he wants.

I'm pretty sure it's a little play for the children, I think it's neat. It may not amount to much but politically it was brilliant move, because now 7 year olds and even younger, are learning to engage in politics. Brilliant idea make the FUTURE voters happy NOW, no downside to that play.

Hoping Mamdani is the spark that lights the fire under the democratic party's arses. They badly need to wake TF up, pay attention to virtually everything this dynamic leader is doing. Oligarch owned MSM may try, but Mamdani will NOT be blemished by their bullshit. There's a NEW Blue Wave a'coming.

Upon further reflection, I realize my comment was out of line because it assumes a very unrealistic scenario. If those kids actually reach senior citizen ages, there is zero chance this failed society will still have anything resembling “nursing homes.“ Good luck scavenging in the wastes!

When I was younger and lived east and my favored hockey team was playing west coast games, I was annoyed because games didn't start til 10pm. Now I'm annoyed because living on the west coast and my teams are playing east, that's like 4-4:30 start and I might not make it home from work in time :P

That was actually misinformation. The photo of her with the kids was from a signing for a bill regarding schools. She did pull back the regulations, but even their office isn’t THAT tone deaf to have smiling kids there. We’re getting there, though lol

A few years back, I jumped on the chance to get money lodging to give up my seat on a flight. The other men who got it were both retired Knicks players who were going to teach a basketball camp. We had a great time! I watched Olympic swimming over their heads, and they watched bball over mine!

I could’ve used a mayor like him when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show. I had to lobby all my mother’s friends to get them to convince my mother to let me stay up to watch the whole show and to watch TV on a school night (thank you to Mrs. W I know it was you who finally convinced my mother)

There were 60 girls in my 7th grade room in Catholic school in North Jersey. We left school Fri Feb 7 fairly normal 12 yr olds. We returned Mon Feb 10 stark raving, insane, crazed Beatlemaniacs. Thank god your Mom's friend stepped up! That night changed our lives forever.

It's not very Presidential unless he whines about Joe Biden's autopen. I'm glad to see this humorous PR move. I'd like to see more color among the kids, but I support that Mamdani did this, having people involved. Ultimately, the solution to the current crap won't be a political one.
