so, you would argue that the family of this man, his CHILDREN deserve to be fatherless? for his actions????? murder is never the answer. and anyone that argues otherwise, is in fact crazy

What about the families of all the people the CEO killed by denying needed care…for MONEY? I feel for the family, but not the man. Why is it normalized to murder thousands and thousands with paperwork yet there is no outrage? But one guy gets killed and people are losing it.

It occurs to me that there's no reason normal people couldn't just start wearing Guy Fawkes masks when doing their normal errands, and enough people doing that would make the surveilance AI start fucking up badly.

incorrect. youve been brainwashed into thinking violent oppression is acceptable. the morally corrupted members of the ruling class are waging a war against the rest of the world. we have a right and a duty to fight back. it is a kill, not a murder.

if you want to argue that it is less effective than some other means of fighting back, i am more than willing to hear you out. the oppression of people has become abstract beyond our innate senses. climate change, health care, livable earnings, housing, women's rights, etc.

Reminds me of the "you get what you deserve" scene out of the joker. Though, needless to say, I don't condone the violence. I can see how a society that worships profit & wealth over people, can push someone into it. Cause and effect.

Also how he attributes corporate greed to middle management and their staff, musk punches down at every opportunity it seems. It’s just so sad to see that these people hold legitimate power over politics. And constantly greed out and blame others.

At one point, will people start valuing themselves over greed and stop voting for candidates they think will make them rich. That is a fairy tale at best. The hate is real for the middle-class and he wants to eradicate them at any cost.

It’s not any crazier than royalty thinking they were bestowed by God with superior abilities. Still, less crazy would be nice. Meh! Lots of people could do it. Taking a fraction of the pay would instantly be millions in profit. They’ve always been the biggest single drain on the company

I keep seeing responses to the UHC shooting. Yes, insurance CEOs should be held accountable for the profit driven deaths they cause. But we cannot become a country that condones taking the death penalty into our own hands. I say that KNOWING if it's my child, I'd want to beat him to death.

UHC is guilty of innumerable amounts of corporate manslaughter through their policies and coverage denials. The fact that 1 person sought revenge is only surprising in that it hasn’t happened sooner or on a grander scale.

U guys gonna love this movie "John Q". He takes a hospital hostage because he loses his job and health insurance companies cancel him and his son needs a heart transplant

I do not celebrate violence. Quite the contrary. I also don't think that anyone is justifying his death. However, the whole world is a buzz over his death when people are dying every day from the denials of insurance companies, and we never hear a peep. People are entitled to their feelings.

You're entitled to feel that way, but I hardly think most people think murder is ever justified. More so, it's just the irony of it all. But you do you.

If it could be changed that easily it wouldn't have come to this, the fact that you assume this was the first resort and not someone being pushed to the limit is pretty telling.

I read, right after happened that the shooter got away on an E-bike. So, anything with an E, i always check if it has a GPS, and it does!!! They could track him on that shit, but again, i started to see articles and reports that did not mention that. At first i thought maybe the 1st report

I thought it was just misinformation, but the more i thought about it, maybe they weren't trying to find him. So they started to DELETE some of the info. We live in a sick, sad world. You have people who fix a system to deny YOU and keep their pockets full. Then you have someone who gets away

don't know about you, but having people's lives in my ability seems like a great time to exhibit HUMANITY and COMPASSION. YOU'D NEED TO HAVE BEEN STUNG BY A HEALTH INSURANCE OR ANY INSURANCE COMPANY TO Fully UNDERSTAND THE DISBELIEF, TERROR, AND YES RAGE. It is personal. I do, first hand.

People need to understand this is ON PAR with governments letting people die from famine. Just because they're dieing out of sight and in a slower fashion does not make it any less awful than murder, we need to fix our monkey-brains because this is for sure a human trait, and not a good one.

Ok, Quick discussion: Do we all consider justifiable vigilante execution as murder and take the L on having to admit some murders are not a bad thing, or is this Thompson situation something other than murder we don’t have a unanimously acceptable word for?

I will write this in all caps so people will see it. INSURANCE COMPANIES DO NOT DENY CARE. INSURANCE COMPANIES DO NOT CHARGE PATIENTS FOR CARE. It is the "doctors" who deny care based on ability to pay, and who charge exorbitant fees for their services.

This certainly makes me ponder my own mortality a little more intensely since I am pretty sure the US health care system will drop me like a hot potato at the first sign of lingering illness, unless the pharma companies can figure out a way to make an extra buck off a dying man.

All the insurance providers need to wake up because of this. I have BCBS, and I can't get approved for a procedure that will prevent me from having a stroke--due to my heart defect--not because cardiac surgeon doesn't think I need it... I do. The insurance won't pay.

I’ve had 7 ischemic strokes due to antiphosolipid syndrome plus a thoarotic aortic aneurysm yet I still struggle with my plan to cover my blood thinner injections which are the only thing keeping alive at this point. I failed warfarin. Plus I have the gift of aphasia 🫠

You're probably familiar with what I have then. With your strokes, you've probably been tested for it. I have a PFO, right to left shunting. That's the good one where your unfiltered blood leaks over to the side of your heart sending blood to your brain.

I was negative for a pfo. I have another congenital heart defect- bicuspid aorta. It’s leaking, too. I know my aneurysm has to be fixed at 5 cm it at 4.8 now. I’m only 48? Stroke started at 44. Following 2 high risk pregnancies. Keep fighting. So many folks I know needed this done. Wish you well 🫶🏻

So if you've never experienced claim denial, my <60 patient had been denied maintenance of an osteomy bag that resulted from a fistula (her insurance won't cover that). She's appealed this many times. She has to buy all of the supplies and maintain it herself. Note that she can't live without it.

I’m going to continue to post this because there’s a lot of people on the site that still think it’s wrong that that happened to this man I’m not one of those people! Sorry, not sorry!

Murder or not, No one's gonna mourn the man responsible for causing countless more Heartbreaks and Death for Greed. The guy was murdered, the shooter is a Vigilante, but he's also a Folk Hero and will be remembered foundly compared to the victim. Its a double standard but it's also all we have.

I quit watching broadcast and cable news on November 6. I just caught myself wondering what those fools would be saying about this shooting. And then I remembered, no, I don't wonder. I know what they are saying. They are predictable. Fuck them.

I'm not surprised in the least bit at the quiet clapping after the murder of the top dog at UHC. Who would have dreamt that a depraved business plan would spawn violence? Oh well, when we are degraded to being unworthy, expendable and invisible there is nothing the serfs can do.

*Health Insurance Industry* Oh we can't reform...*gulp*...quick scrub the personal photos and consider moving to a more gated community increase salaries to compensate for security risk and enlarge the golden parachutes!
