For all those who keep insisting that Bluesky is dead or dying... Bluesky is where you can get actual engagement with real humans.

I've worked in Democratic digital comms for a long time and pay attention to campaign metrics across platforms. Increasingly I'm seeing Dems who crosspost on X, Bluesky, and Threads get better engagement on Bluesky even with far fewer followers. Here's @jamestalarico.bsky.social's clip last night:

Well, to be fair, it's possible to do that on Twitter, too. The ratio of asshats to intelligent humans is just a lot higher over there. );

It is 2016 and I am getting a set of PDFs of various Facebook accounts, the posts - lists - likes - interactions - PMs - all as a single document in an archive. Because the cops had it and shared that via public records. All of them Nazis or affiliates. They got each with a single email to FB.

The one statistic I miss is views. A big disadvantage of the feed approach is that an account like this one, which appears on many feeds, probably gets many more views than its follower count would imply. Or that's what I tell myself when I need to feel better. I'd like to *know*.

Not sure how many times this has to be borne out before it sinks in. Several companies have reported engagement results magnitudes higher through this site.

I'm glad a good number of Red Sox writers have taken the plunge but it seems like everyone willing to leave twitter did and the rest value it more than even bothering to crosspost. Substack too. People just don't care about ownerhsip.

The self-moderation and the lack of an algorithm are complete disincentives towards bot activity and troll farms. So yes, the signal-to-noise ratio is unsurprisingly way higher on BSky. It's why it's currently the only microblogging platform I can even tolerate anymore.
