I think you have missed the point of it. Just like the extension that warns me when a game has Denuvo in it. These are deciding factors on whether I will look at the game. Or give that company money. So the information should be up front on page load.

Plus, look if the dev/publisher, or franchise (a bit down on the right-hand side of the store page) are known slop peddlers. PlayWay S.A. is a big offender, and pretty much every "triple A" game studio.

I would not suggest installing any extensions to the browser in the Steam app. It is not officially supported afaik

Oh I didn‘t mean the extension, I‘m more telling the people who use it to please actually read the box :) This is also why a blanket filter on games with AI disclosures is probably not good (Steam should add a yes/no checkbox probably to filter by, but that‘s not a thing atm)

Just a note about the replies here: lots of them are saying they use no GenAI, but that's not the same as using NO AI. (Among programmers, ~90% of us are using LLMs to code now. www.digitalapplied.com/blog/ai-codi...)

I don't do that, or recommend others do, because there seems to be a practice of devs filling that space out saying that they are not using GenAI. So the chance for false positives are high.

It's annoying that it only works in browers, but for events it's been such a help

Crazy that Steam/Valve lets you ignore tags from appearing but there's no AI Creation tag? Even if it goes beyond the tag system, they should have something that lets me never have to see an AI slop game to begin with...
