I’d love to go to Mexico for the food but this stuff from the yanks is bananas. American food is a cheeseburger and chips, the stuff you put on a kids menu because it’s so bland they’ll eat it.

Much of what we consider “Mexican food” was entirely invented in America by Mexican Americans and largely does not exist in Mexico.

There’s a great bit from one of the Anthony Bourdain shows where he goes to the border town in Mexico where nachos were invented, and the nachos he gets there are just the saddest looking nachos.
