This was a standout moment in the hearing …

DOJ: We want a clean clear order... JUDGE: I've already done that! Do you want me to issue another order saying "I really mean it this time"? 28/

I went through a 3 1/2 year divorce/custody battle. I’ve heard judges say sarcastic stuff to my ex an his incompetent attorney, where I had to fight to keep from LOLing in the courtroom….but THIS takes the cake!! Pure effing GOLD!!

I’m not convinced Blanche is smart enough or ballsy enough to be orchestrating this himself. I’m thinking this is more of a stephen miller move, knowing he won’t face any reprecussions. Blanche isn’t very smart or he’d be there covering his own ass.

It’s been so exhausting to watch court after court, judge after judge bend over backwards multiple times per case, to eke out regularity morsels for the current, Trump-defending DOJ. Please please please let’s have some sanctions and no extensions that will be ever again ignored. #NoFascistUSA

Reading everthing AG wrote, it strikes me that things are not going well. The DoJ is gaslighting, running in circles and obfuscating; worse, theyre doing it comfortably and without fear and the reason is clear: WHAT can this judge actually do?? Nothing.

The fascinating thing about these hearings is how they’ve become high-stakes theater where the script is written in real-time, but the acting is stuck in 1995. We're watching a legacy OS try to run a Web3 simulation.

Contempt of court and a night in the hoosegow might convey that meaning in case he had a hard time understanding it or difficulty reading the order. Seems like missing a deadline and saying "my dog ate my homework" might qualify for contempt.

What We the People want is for you to tell the bailiff to place the DOJ lawyer in handcuffs and put him in jail for contempt of court. THAT is the only way your orders will be paid attention to and the longer it takes, the longer you'll have to keep them in jail.

So the enforcement arm of our government to enforce this judges orders, are the US Marshals, which is controlled by the executive, do you see the problem with that?

And yesterday? ButtWipe Blanche was holding a presser claiming that his DoJ "is sworn to protect and defend the institutions of the United States". As he sends stooges to the Courts to play kabuki theater games and lie their asses off.

I am positively incandescent with anger as I read this. These people respect nothing. They spit on the court, on the victims, and on the public. The department of injustice.

So, who's in charge? DOJ or the Judge? Who gets to tell whom what to do...DoJ or Judge? It's proving Judge is over DoJ but as long as DoJ defies Judge's court orders by delays w/ feigned confusion, DoJ takes control he doesn't otherwise have...what's MISSING? JUDGE ENFORCING THE CT ORDER w/ JAIL!

Literally gasped when I read this… as you are absolutely correct + I’m reminded that my “default settings” of decorum etc. are grossly out-of-date 😞 I hope all of the court staff (not just the judge!) has security / protection — something as simple as commuting can feel risky in this climate.

If this was Joe Blogs off the street doing this to a court, they would be incontempt, held in a prison cell for a period of time 24hrs to a week, then brought back to either answer the questions or face more prison time. The DOJ is a coward just like the rest of the GOP that refuse to call Trump out!

Nope. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was not personally present at the federal court hearing today. Instead, he sent Justice Department Senior Counsel Andrew Block to represent the government and face questioning from U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan.

Well, it is pretty much what they say every time to Blanche. Until they put his ass in jail and find him and contempt this game will go on and the felon continue to elude any kind of justice.

Glad this judge doesn't play around with theses people.Time for all judges to rule by the paw and stop caving into these lawbreakers. No matter who they are.Make them follow the law just like we other Americans doj

Only matters if there are tangible consequences. Blanche already used up what should have been his only free pass. He should, at this very moment, be sitting in the dirtiest holding cell in DC, figuring out if he’s going to comply or take up residence, picking his time slot for the communal toilet.

Judges during this administration have been an embarrassment in my humble layman's opinion. The lack of response to repeated open and blatant contempt is so impotent that one might suspect they're complicit.

I thought the DOJ atty saying they expected an assumption of regularity was a pretty funny one since the whole process has been, like, "we did not understand that the sky is blue, your honor, we had no way of knowing."

The rest of us want you to issue warrants so we can start arresting the people obfuscating and protecting the people mentioned in the files. AND we want you to issue warrants for the villains mentioned in the files. It's not that difficult to grasp. Do your jobs. FFS. Justice. Serve some.

"this time"???? I know I don't know Jack shit about the law compared to others in law, but when are judges going to stop taking their bullshit and call for contempt? Did that change and I'm just not aware of it.

"...clean clear order..." Suspect for a judge, it would be quite tempting to say, since that's already been provided, will some time in lockup for contempt of court make it any clearer for you?

Would make an interesting docket entry..."Order of Court - And now this 13th day of August, 2026, after hearing and upon consideration the following Order is entered, and the undersigned Judge makes it clear that he really means it this time, to wit: ..."

Allison, ask yourself this. Could you get away with this in a court of law? I'm guessing not a chance. The DOJ are clearly corrupt. They're not even hiding it. They're embarrassing the judge and courts.

(yawn) Can the judge throw some of these as*holes in prison for contempt starting with Todd and then just work his way up from there? Thanks in advance. (Ever since the fiasco rulings/adventures with Aileen Cannon- I want to see the rule of law completely unsubverted please)

Yeah sometimes I wonder if this is just all theater. Just like another poster wrote. Put the hammer down. Be done with it. You give them too many chances. It's like a child....if you let them get away with it the first time they kept doing it and doing it and doing it Then it gets harder to stop

The judge is a joke now and so is this lawsuit. Just a podcast episode now. DOJ defaulted and the judge is acting like that didnt happen. Since they have not answered, usually they are not allowed to even speak in the hearing but the judge has let that go also. What a farce.
