The best way to confront a bully about the misinformation he is spreading is to confront him in front of everyone. Macron just did that.

It is because he is weak. He is not a good politician. He is not a negotiator. He is not intelligent. He does not understand his own government. He is not a business man. He does not know how to communicate. He does not know how to effectively manage people and situations.

It's been like that since his first term. His antics at gatherings of world leaders are constantly mocked. Pushing people out of his way, taking a golf buggy instead of walking with the others, etc.

That was a sarcastic remark. That said, Macron gave Trump no room to lie. When Trump tried to jump in Macron clearly outlined the terms of the aid and the obligator of the debt if such a debt exists- Russia.Which Trump probably understands as true. Trump wasn't able to twist these facts into lies.

Democratic elected officials (and frankly the Republican ones as well) should be standing in line to call Trump out on his lies. But no, it takes a foreigner with guts to do it right in the White House, on camera.

I think it's a mistake to belive that Trump is stupid or insane. He is selfish and cynical, he knows EXACTLY what he's doing to rally his voters. He knows he's wrong and lying, he just doesn't care as long as it benefits him.

I didn’t say he was stupid, a dictator like him doesn’t get to where he is by being stupid. Calculated law breaker,felon rapist that knows his adversaries are weak, ie democrats and US judicial system and they they have allowed it to happen over a decade or so. That’s what I’m saying.

One thing I have learned over the years is that you can be a complete moron, and yet still have skills in social conversation. It will carry you to a degree regardless of your actual intelligence, and with power and influence can ever cause people to turn on actual skill to instead favor you.

There’s truth in your statement; however, he is genuinely stupid as shown repeatedly in his inability to answer questions off the cuff, think on his feet (always deferring instead), use language above a 4th grade level, speak in complete sentences, absorb complex concepts, stay on topic, and more.

And I'm pretty sure that until 2017, Trump had never been in any situation in which he couldn't just shut down anyone who challenged him -- except for maybe his father. Otherwise, Trump lived from childhood to his senior years without ever having to listen to anyone who didn't agree with him.

Yeah it'll be a defining moment for him though, for sure. Fingers crossed. I think the UK has a lot more potential than many give it credit for, still very well placed in the grand scheme of things. No idea if Labour has it in them to bring that out though. Next couple of weeks might be critical.

He agrees because it's true, but he HAS to frame the lie to sell it to the American people per his agreements with Putin . Hard to do that when you walk in thinking the game is rigged in your favor but the opposition looks you dead in the eye and reminds you the game hasn't even started.

That was a brave move by Macron, correcting Trump to his face. But Trump will now be holding a grudge because he was contradicted, and he'll find a way to exact revenge on France. By doing something dickish, like putting tariffs on cheese, or something.
