My take has long been Trump cannot destroy democracy, but he can destroy America. I wish that people would put like 1/10th of the amount of energy into dooming about the latter as the former.

Lol people keep saying this like the postal service can't just delay or misdirect ballots (they can) or that armed Trump goons can't just walk in and seize ballots (who's going to stop them?). Let me ask you this question, who's going to stop or prosecute any of this? Todd Blanche and the DOJ? lol

I fear that all he really needs to do is to create abnormal circumstances which he will then try to leverage. That's what J6 was all about and why it was so important that Pence and the rest of them came back to finish the job that night.

All the way back during the 2016 campaign it was a thing that they'd often let him literally phone it in without appearing on camera, which isn't something typically granted to other politicians.

This sounds right. But it is worth remembering that election rigging and violence are the norm in history. Not the exception.

Tell that to the people of Chicago and Minneapolis, who've been at Ground Zero of the administration's attacks on civilians. They don't need to invade every state. Just the blue ones.

The thing to remember is that the real goal is "control of Congress" and not "rigged vote counts". Control of congress could come down to a single House election that, because of tampering, can't be certified by Jan 3rd.

I worry that the latter is enough to accomplish something similar to the former. Hopefully not! But I don't expect whatever Trump tries to do to steal the election to be elegant.

Yoon moment is coming, just a question of if it is before the election or during the lame duck and how serious it is treated/how quickly it collapses.

No doubt Blanche is already hard at work drafting a “finding of election irregularities” that he will roll out as a pretext for nullifying the results, invoking the Insurrection Act, or worse…

Would love to agree with you, however, as with his call last year for Red States to do mid-decade gerrymandering of House districts, he is likely to run this through Republican controlled states backed by the willingness of his DOJ & the Courts to deny or delay certification of Democratic wins👍
