No DOJ doesn't have the power to block certification. But interpreting this literally is wrong. DOJ can and will file lawsuits with courts that do have authority to block certification. Any case will be argued all the way to SCOTUS. They are corrupt enough to slow walk past Jan 3rd.

Justin Levitt@justinlevitt.bsky.social

What the Attorney General of the United States seems to not understand, but the people who matter do, is that Congress hasn’t given DOJ any authority to block states from certifying the election. This isn’t a thing. And we don’t have to pretend it’s a thing just because he says it’s a thing.

Yet another take that focuses narrowly on one possible action, rules it out, and then ignores all other possible paths to steal the election.

Russia has hit Kyiv, Ukraine, with at least 6 ballistic missiles within the last 30 minutes, targeting 3 million civilians and infrastructure, after meeting with Trump's lapdog Witkoff, who praised Putin as a humanitarian and saluted him on behalf of the rogue United States.

This is pathetic. Ukraine tested Starlink speed restrictions in Europe and had no issues - the restrictions only exist in Ukraine. The Trump administration is actively helping Russia kill Ukrainians - and risking the lives of US and NATO advisors in Ukraine.

I'm growing more suspicious whether OpenAI's unreleased new model is reasoning in a real sense. "Taste" implies it is not simply random. Too soon to say of course. Anything novel has an inherent appearance of brilliance even if discovered through brute force and nondeterminism.

Stay tuned for more on this from mainstream reporting hopefully later today, but Bob's got the gist of it; last week, it appears that ICE began disappearing people from the Online Detainee Locator System the moment they get a final order of removal. Yes, this is as deeply screwed up as it sounds.

Bob511@bob511.bsky.social

Hospitalization on top of normal booking delay would probably keep him invisible on the locator for a bit regardless, but possibly another issue at play here: Since last week ICE has appeared to be excluding EVERY detainee with a final order of removal from showing up in the online locator.
