Assuming this will go as well for him As tariffs have We will be hit back hard OUR students will suffer Many of our students spend semesters abroad They will lose out on the cultural advantages Of foreign friends/experiences here/abroad We don't live in a vacuum And no more US Rhodes Scholars

The broader Trumpsky project is to separate Americans from the rest of the world and control our affinity for traveling and learning about other cultures. North Korea here we come!

Wow. Another reason why the U.S will lose even more scientist and educated people to other countries. The U.S have had a history of importing talented people, thereby enriching the country with their innovations and prosperity. Let this continue and you will be left behind in more ways than one.

AXIOS: Trump's move on Harvard "could hurt America's economy by reducing the number of startup founders. .. ".. Around 44% of U.S. unicorn companies — startups valued at $1 billion or more — are founded or cofounded by immigrants .." @axios.com www.axios.com/newsletters/...

Most definitely unlawful. And shameful. That goes for anyone - like Noem - who participates in this abuse of power. And it should not be surprising, coming from someone who shot an innocent puppy in the head, executioner-style.

We need standards, of course, but controlling what you can teach and who can learn is about as anti-democratic, as anti-American as one can get. “A republican form of government without intelligence in the people must be a prologue to a farce or a tragedy; or perhaps both.” Horace Mann

You are Harvard. How the ,,,, can you let Trump, the village idiot, manipulate you? You are of superior intellect and can walk circles around him in court. So the question is, what are you waiting for? You know what else, When you lead, others will have the confidence to follow. Now lead!

Did Threatening Barbie come with this all on her own or did she have some help from Barron’s dad who’s angry his son wasn’t accepted anywhere. He just ‘taking classes’ at NYU. I mean, why else would dear leader have spent 9 months being coy about where Barron was going to go?

If you are implying “most” international students do not deserve to be at Harvard, that’s a problematic statement. Why don’t they deserve to be? Also, children of powerful Americans gain acceptance at Harvard. Some of them are good students and some aren’t. Some of them buy their way in. Yes. Some.

"Harvard says the government's actions,... are 'unlawful.'" Given that every objective observer considers the administration's actions as arbitrary and capricious, perhaps the lede should be: The unlawful actions of the government... No need to wait for adjudication of behavior this egregious.

Nope. You're thinking of the California injunction. Different case, but a separate but equally repugnant example of Trumpian racist fascism. The CA judge ruled against Trump's attack on International students nationally which has been enjoined as you've noticed. www.nbcnews.com/politics/imm...

nbcnews.comFederal judge blocks Trump administration from revoking international students' legal statusThe order prevents students from being arrested, detained or transported based on their legal status until their case is resolved.

Payback time. Harvard should have taken Fred Trump's money & admitted his blockhead son, even though he never did his homework & was always grabbing the girls by their (private parts).

When something violates the Constitution or federal laws, it can be restricted or struck down through judicial review—the process by which courts, especially the Supreme Court, interpret and enforce constitutional principles.

I posted my yearly donation early....Thank you Harvard, I learned to be a independent women with my own mind and not someone else telling me that I have to be something that I am not...as many have to do!

Um… harass innocent 18 year olds trying to become highly educated with great potential to be beacons of society but pardon grown ass ignorant convicted felonious j6ers that have had 20+ years to “learn good” but chose to get their learnin from faux *news. 😖🤦🏽‍♀️

This is also breaking news in Germany. I have chills, because of our history. Dismantling the Sciences, bringing them in line, excluding scientist, that are not fitting in their plan, we saw this before. I know so many foreign students over here and I could imagine what this means for them. Anxiety

The topic in today’s debate between Harvard and Columbia debate teams is what is more outrageous…. Shipping foreign students with valid visas out of country illegally or not letting foreign students come to study at the university at all.

Nope. More opportunity for real talent. Not rich kids that take jobs and up the cost of homes. Chairman Xi daughter is not special talent but was accepted into Harvard. Americans are just not that bright when it comes to these games. I dislike Trump but I know that university game very well.

NO undergraduate institution recieving US funding should have more than 10-15% foreign *undergraduates*. Just enough to maximize world diversity experience for US students. US taxpayers fund these schools existence. US citizens should reap the benefits. US universities are not a global charity.

I know a chunk of maga folks are stupid.. but I’m wondering if I between picking their kid up from school and trying to get to work on time if normal Americans are wondering.. why tf is the president trying to control colleges and law firms

This is horrible! Trump's administration should stop to fight with universities. Is there any official U.S. authority to stop Trump's administration's fight with American universities?!!! Meral Ekincioglu, PhD, former research fellow at Harvard, MIT, Columbia universities.

Trump just banned Harvard from enrolling international students. Not because of law-breaking. Because of ideology. Because of fear. Because Harvard thinks. Because it teaches. This isn't policy. It's vengeance. My latest here: #SaveHarvard #AcademicFreedom #StopTheBan

And the worst part is that it all stems from Trump's need for revenge because his narcissistic ego has been bruised. It's so pathetic. Eventually, researchers at Harvard and other universities will be able to use the example of Trump in both teaching and research.

This will affect the health of millions of Americans and foreign allies. Harvard does about one fourth of all the research into medical health both here and abroad. People will die all over the world. Dump’s hate for ordinary human beings continues to kill.

How many newly minted lawyers are coming out of Harvard? And what law firms will they join? Maybe the protection of their Alma Mater and other institutions of higher learning will be a career priority for them. Things that make you go "hmmm."

Trump doesnt care about the laws. Until he is going to face consequences, he will keep breaking the laws. Success or failure doesnt matter to him, jus the appearance he is doing something and his dumb base eats this shit up. 😡😡

Now, that the US is sliding down the fascism path into it's own destruction, a lot of other nations happily welcome the brightest minds of the planet. Even if Trump would disappear today into some hot air, the damage done to the USA could not be undone over decades.

Why did you put "unlawful" in scare quotes? @npr.org failing to meet the moment for the ten thousandth time. Enjoy your funding cuts. I'm not donating another penny to your sanewashing.

25% does seem like a high number and probably limits the opportunities of kids from inside the country. Doubt it will hold since Harvard is a corporation but better vetting will be a nice side effect.

Harvard has some global campuses - but it should really develop a new, major one, across the border in Canada. The sooner the better, it's the 1930s fascism now, the 1940s are around the corner... a lesson from history is that Jews who left Germany in the '30s survived.

Of all of Trump's authoritarian blunders, this one should be the easiest to fix, since Harvard is private and has billions in their endowment. Power, fight the power.

Just waiting for the Trump protection scam & bribes offer now. Maybe foreign students will have to pay a 5% fee to Trump's Presidential library. OR they have buy their bitcoins and dinners to get a "pass." OR the children of MAGA who would not normally be accepted "HAVE" to be accepted at Harvard.

It's really not about the revenue. In research labs the vast majority of creative work is done by graduate students and postdoctoral trainees (who are presumably also affected), working on individual projects over multiple years. Abruptly kicking these people out will shatter scientific research.
