Interesting how this person is described as a "far-right activist" by all except the BBC and GBNews, who describe him as an "anti-migrant protestor".

YouGov makes the point that there’s an efficiency in the left bloc vote which isn’t there for the right. Left parties win 60% of seats with 52% of the vote while the right wins 40% of seats off 47% of votes. And that’s without tactical voting.

BBC question time - Andrew Neil calls out the “neo-Nazis in black uniforms” and masks: He tells a dumbstruck Helen Whately that Labour is dealing well with irregular migration by reducing numbers to levels the Tories promised under David Cameron - but never delivered.

Labour's deputy leader is saying there is no "switch" to stop small boats. So accurately reporting how the numbers have been affected by current government efforts seems a pretty major part of the story? Maybe?

johnw60.bsky.social reposted

Thanks to the "legitimate concerns" paradigm, we have a national consensus that migrants (you know which specific ones) are a problem. More migrants = bad, fewer migrants = good. In that context, "anti-migrant protestor" isn't even neutral language to describe this fascist thug. It is *positive*.

Justin sounding very sad and #r4today having a proper meltdown about the boats today… Maybe they should report on how Justin’s precious Brexit has made this possible… and how immigration is much harder to control when you huff out of shared frameworks and agreements.

They don’t mention the long spells of consecutive days with no crossings. Most odd…

johnw60.bsky.social reposted

Can anyone explain to me why this article doesn't mention anywhere that small boat crossings are down 42% from last year? That doesn't mean it's not an issue 781 people arrived in one day. But it seems like the sort of context a reputable news source might mention www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

BBC 6pm news at it again. The same as yesterday, an item on boat crossings. The drip, drip, drip effect is how a political narrative is delivered and we all know who benefits from this, politically.

The theory was that a large crowd outside the police station would deter the police from pressing charges, so that Mr Thomas would be released tonight at 11pm. This has not worked, as the police have charged Mr Thomas, remanding him to appear in court in the morning

It's characteristic of the Brexit debate that, after a decade of arguing about it, the leader of the Conservative Party doesn't appear to know what the single market is & can't be arsed to find out. She seems to have a vague idea it's "a free trade area" that got mixed up with "all the other stuff".
