It is incredibly simple to acknowledge that violence in any form is awful and erodes society.

It’s very frustrating to pretend like this violence just randomly happened without adding context of how it became normalized. The media just glossed over the Minnesota murders of representatives…

While the shooting of Charlie Kirk should be condemned by all - and it has been quickly by many of his most vocal critics - it's guaranteed one thing: Republicans will use it as a shield against releasing the #EpsteinFiles & to change the subject away from #Epstein to protect Sexual Predator Trump.

It is incredibly simple and it's also entirely wrong. To believe something like that, you have to redefine every violent act that you think is okay out of the word "violence". And if you're doing that, then you aren't saying much of anything are you.

That's bullshit though. It didn't "erode" society to shoot Nazis in WWII, it saved it. Obviously we should not want even more violence from the right & tactically that may mean discouraging violence against the right. But it is not "awful" for a white supremacist to die - it is good.

Unfortunately with modern media/social media being controlled by a select few, violence will become more common. Ghandi wouldn’t have an impact today. He would be blocked by the algos, controlled news wouldn’t talk about him and so on. When the means to protest are removed, violence follows.

It’s also incredibly simple to say what party and what people in that party make this possible. If one is too cowardly to say both on a day like this than say nothing. Here’s what happened in my community today.
