I am having migration issues from 4.4 to 4.5 with my current project. I can get it to load in Recovery Mode and I end up with tons of shader compilation errors but nothing more than that. If I try to load normally the progress bar for opening the project gets all the way to 100% then freezes solid.

...with some effort, I finally traced the issue to the one and only third-party plugin I'm using, so I'm gonna have to wait for a 4.5-compatible release of the plugin before I can migrate. :P

Actually, with some effort I traced the problem down even further to the exact code which was causing issues in the plugin's script, thus I edited the plugin's code, reworked my own code to use the edits, and now it's working in 4.5 just fine! :D

I offered, the trouble is I don't have any idea how to use open source online tools like GitHub outside of simply posting issues, plus the person responsible for the plugin hasn't touched any of his stuff since February. :|

This is what you do: On the repo page, click on fork. That'll make a copy of the repo under your control. You can clone it to your machine. Using Github desktop is probably the most user friendly way to do it. Do the modifications. Then commit, and push (with github desktop or whatever client).

With that you have a version of the repo with your modification, which other people can use. And, if you go to the repo page, you should see an option to make a pull request. Although I'm going to tell you to look for any extra guidance the author might have on how to make the pull request.

I'll tell you something else, assuming the above is too much trouble: you can navigate on the github repo page to the file, and by clicking on the line number you can get a permalink to that position on the file, which you can add to your issue report.
