We don't talk enough about how that show's psychic ubiquity reinforced the bland assumption that, even though clowns and idiots are in charge, nothing significant will change and no disasters will befall us.

We will all pay for this in a few decades when the country is riddled with small reactors run by bankrupt nuclear startups with no capital to maintain or decommission them. And that’s the best case scenario. The worst is massive radiation leaks.

The sadness of where we are as a country is daunting. But we are based on an idea and it is up to its people to help it live up to that ideal. As imperfect as we are, it can be Done! It is the duty of every generation to defend our democracy. 💕

Imagine just how much worse this actually might be if every agency at a similar level has the same thing happen... Oh look. They managed to screw it ALL up - including the agencies that police the other agencies, stop monopoly, enforce antitrust laws. Justice is unenforceable. How do you fix it?

That diagram seems misleading to me, since it doesn't include anybody who *stayed*. At a glance, it looks like you're saying DOGE fired 90% of the org, which isn't what you're claiming. I can't judge how big a problem it is without the baseline number.

So, are we planning to divvy up the list of every DOGE employee to volunteers for quicker retribution or are we going with due process? I know how I’m voting.

Fortunately there is a civilian organization, the Professional Reactor Operator Society (PROS), that has a lot of expertise. No substitute, of course, but they are very active.

Investigating and prosecuting every single Dogebro should be the baseline position for every Democratic incumbent and candidate.

Knowing that I live 300 miles off of three of your nuclear plants doesnt make me sleep easy in normal times but this is a sleep-depriving nightmare...

Putting an anti-Elon sticker on your Tesla isn’t enough. Financing is probably still being paid through Tesla… funding Elon. Subscription services are still probably being paid for… funding Elon. The insurance may be through Tesla… funding Elon.

Some of those people are heirs to secrets going all the way back to Oppenheimer himself. Way to go giving them the axe, Elmo and friends, pretty sure they will find lucrative employment in places not very friendly to the USA. Couldn't have done it better if it were ordered by Vladimir himself.

Decades. That’s how long it will take to fix everything after this administration. It also how long a bunch of the people in this administration will be in prison.

If true, it’s reckless. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission depends on deep expertise and continuity pushing out seasoned staff guts the safeguards that prevent serious failures. You can replace people. You can’t quickly replace judgment.

What do you expect from a group of people named after a 4Chan/Japanese internet meme, FFS? Elon Musk is an egomaniac who was elevated to a powerful position because he paid for it. Only someone like him would come up with such a name. bsky.app/profile/prop...
