Dr. Joseph Mercola, a vaccine skeptic with millions of followers, told parents for years that vitamin K shots were unnecessary for newborns. Now he's changed his mind. The reversal came after we contacted him while reporting on babies who died after parents declined the shot: propub.li/4aowazm

One huge reason for people turning away from science that drives our knowledge in the fields of medicine, climate change, evolution, physics and so on is that Americans are so poorly educated. MAGA intends to keep it this way-- embodied for example in Linda McMahon. Dumocrats is just projection.

Are you a family member, doctor, nurse or midwife? We want to understand more about why families decline a vitamin K shot. If you have a story to share, we hope you will reach out when you’re ready. You can contact @deldeib.bsky.social at duaa.eldeib@propublica.org or 312-730-4797 on Signal.

🌋🌋 🌋this emoji approaches my feelings about this guy and his cohort… Babies were dying 60 years ago from vitamin K deficiency and yet it took more babies dying now for him to retract his BS… and others are just doubling down, ugh!

Mercola was never opposed to vitamin K for babies, he was only opposed to the delivery method of oral drops versus intramuscular injection of higher doses. You don't even know what healthcare is, you don't know what medical consent is, you made fraudulent claims about vaccines during Covid etc.
