Another trainwreck in slow motion. Step one: Force devs to use more A.I. Step two: Be delayed because the tech isn't working well and you fired everyone it replaced. Step three: Get shuttered because you used A.I. and it didn't work. I'm tired...

Mmmm waiter more slop please! Mmm yummy roboslop! I simply love when games are terrible and deprived of human creativity! 🥴

I now have more games on Epic than I do on Steam (688 v 540). I've *paid* for maybe 5 games on Epic, though maybe 100 of the free games on Epic came via having Amazon/Twitch Prime (they hand out 2-4 per week as well, but using a variety of game storefronts).

They told devs to go all-in on AI after suddenly delaying the new game to March. They also had several rounds of cost-cutting. While I don't think Epic is at risk of going bankrupt any time soon, it still looks like they're bleeding money fast.

The impression I got from when we got actual details of the cut is that it was probably more about laying off anybody who wasn't deemed "ai positive enough". There was no other rhyme or reason to the cuts, peoples in important positions or who were singlehandedly building new features got laid off

Delaying a game to claim you're making the game faster and more efficiently now is the most top down "the boss knows better than all the employees combined cause he's the boss" thing I've read this 5 minutes

They are projected to only make 6,3 billion U.S. dollars in gross revenues and its their beast year so far so ofc they have to save or they will go broke and cant make the payouts to the investors

All those billions and still unable to make good games. They should sack their entire top end instead. Cause apparently they are incapable of helping the teams be good at what they do. But no...of course we'll go for the employees. Classic corpa. No money to epic from me anymore, that's for sure.

To be clear, they haven't got money in a long while in general. Nor gameplay. Buuut I still had the smallest bit of hope that maybe they'd turn ship. Chance was pretty negative but alas. This will save me more time and money.

Epic squandering the money from Fortnite and from being the "default" video game engine is a generational fumble to be studied. Imagine the amazing art people could have made from all the money Epic has pissed up a wall smh

the epic-google bidding wars didn’t help matters much, but it did keep certain publishers out of davy jones locker for a hot minute
