Wicked was really good except for the 1 year intermission I don't need that long to go to the bathroom

the joke here is that the movie Wicked, now in theaters, covers Act 1 of the musical, and part 2 of the movie comes out one year from now. follow me for more hilarious and wholesome broadway humor!

what's incredible is that while I already had no interest in this movie due to the crazy amount of over the top marketing and forced interest, I am absolutely not shocked that none of that marketing discloses this isn't even the whole thing lol

I don't doubt that at all, but I don't go to the movies for a part 1 of anything except a build-up like infinity war. If it was one film and people were raving about it, maybe. I'll catch it on digital prolly when both parts are out. Thanks for the reply.

As someone who has been barely following Wicked the film and largely unaware of Wicked the stage production, I appreciate the explanation and clarification, as well as a newfound enjoyment of the joke as originally transcribed. Also: they’re doing WHAT?!

This has irritated me to no end since Avengers Infinity War. “Oh, damn, they’re fading away!? I wonder how they’ll resolve this before the credits roll!” Now we have a Spiderverse movie that will probably never get its sequel.

Clearly they're drastically overcorrecting for the miniscule intermission time at the broadway show, where I barely made it back to my seat in time, after standing in a long-ass line for one of the two restrooms available and taking the quickest piss of my life

Well it has bragging rights then to it being a memorable occasion with a magnificent long intermission of great significance I still remember the 3 hour wait in line King Tut exhibit in 1977 in DC. during Carter’s Inauguration

I was disappointed to learn that this film is only half the story. The original book was .... one book. The original Broadway musical was..... one musical. These people want to gain as much coin as they possibly can by making one film into two. Pisses me off.

Saw the play in Toronto, it was good, but i will do what i did for Lord of the Rings, i will wait till both parts are out and watch them back to back. I am not into this waiting a year in between a series.

I understand this perception. Exercising the male prerogative is always faster, which is why the lines at the ladies tend to move a bit slower. 🕺💃 What isn't accounted for is the contractually agreed amount of time for the various concessions to ply their trade. Intermission =💰

I saw the movie with 3 friends who have seen the stage show multiple times. They all fidgeted all the way through the movie due to it's length and complainedit was moving too slowly. I, however, really enjoyed the movie because I didn't know the story and had no idea what to expect.

Just saw it yesterday! Great voices but I wish the music and lyrics were better! Often times the music overwhelmed the main character's voices. Special effects were terrific! Old MGM musicals have songs that stick with you! This movie did not come close.

That’s a hard one because I kind of agree but also kind of don’t . The stage production is almost three hrs long and is AMAZING of course. But it has the intermission. The film version is equally as amazing but, do you think they could have made a movie three hrs long, with no break?

Hollywood hasn’t made movies with an intermission since the days of Cleopatra or Ben Hur. Easier and more profitable for them to split it into two movies. So yeah, bummer to wait for pt2 but better for the film.

Saw it on Monday. Still going on about it 5 days later. Going again with a second crew next Wed. I'm rarely still talking about a film 10 minutes after leaving the theater and here I am still gushing about it. Yep, it's really, really good! That and telling everyone to watch "Buy Now" on Netflix
