There's dead and then there's mostly dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. However in this case there's only one thing to do, which is to go through his clothes and look for loose change.

It's been 39 days since anyone has publicly seen Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). I asked his office for any updates on his mysterious health condition or his plans to return to the Senate, and got... a statement from 11 days ago. www.huffpost.com/entry/live-u...

And Republicans are down a vote the whole time he's not available. That is the best possible outcome. Anybody who tells you Andy Beshear could fix this all with one weird trick is full of it.

It‘s a fair assumption that Sen. McConnell’s useful days in government have passed. Dead. Gone. That‘s good news. He’s done plenty of damage. I revel in the end of Mitch McConnell‘s life in our government, but the end of his physical self? Letting go of life isn‘t simple or easy.

Said that *exact* thing to my wife last night. I'm honestly surprised they're not using it as an excuse in press conferences at this point. Well, except for the "loose change" part...

Beshear needs to stop calling for proof of life and start calling for an autopsy. Stop asking and start declaring he’s dead. Control the narrative. Flood the zone. But he’s a modern Dem, so I’m not holding my breath.
