Tip: The key to shutting down AI bros is to just give them very basic animation direction

"Deep down, you know I'm right" translated: "i really need you to accept my arguments right now because if i have one more person tell me this grifter tech i'm leaning on is worthless i think i'm gonna have a fucking mental breakdown"

Actually incredible that even those who want to defend AI are unable to add any level of polish to their slop. Their only choice is to not give a shit and ship it out (quality be damned) or redo the whole thing. AI at its core is garbage and can never be more than that no matter what you do.

It’s funny they’re still parroting the “this is the worst it will ever be” that Sam Altman said years ago. They’re just like crypto bros years ago parroting the claim that owning the blockchain token for their ugly ape NFT was like owning the Mona Lisa

I like the part where they ignore that each 'AI gets better' requires 100 times the computer power of the last iteration. When the VC funding runs dry nobody will want to pay for the slop.

Meet Potential Program-ass "AI will get better" "It won't be an interpolated mess next update" "You know I'm right because I think you know I'm right" "Just 3 more lakes"

*sigh* Because apparently far too many people still don't understand the differences... If you're working in animation or film these are words you should know. (Honestly even MORE so in animation.) Yes even if you're not a dp. Even writers if yall insist on dicttating camera movements in the script.

i remember reading some story about that “balloon head” animated short that VFX company did with AI… it was like thousands upon thousands of prompts for probably a hundred shots. just pulling the lever over and over again, hoping for better results. and that was before per-token pricing!

Sorry we're not gonna go with pigeons we're gonna go with cockatiels. I need you to swap the models and make sure all the rigging is fixed up for what we already have What do you mean you can't do that

unrelated to the larger discussion but they really still think "let that sink in" is the pinnacle of comedy. actually funniest thing theyve ever heard

"Err yeh its okay, but can pigeon one squint and bob his head to the left a little, and can we pan in to his head when that happens between frame x to y! Can we fix that glint on the window back there? Okay see with those dailies tomorrow morning!"

Well for one, when the model is actually made in a real program and has a frame, it can actually be manipulated in the ways wanting, without having to remake it over and over and over again. Now Traditional 2D artist.. I weep for their torment!
